It’s the dawn of a new era for the WWE as the world’s most popular pro wrestling, err sports entertainment, promotion sets to launch on Netflix with its premiere show Monday Night RAW.
RAW’s debut on Netflix will emanate from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on January 6, and feature stars from the red brand along with SmackDown as well. This is a moment where all hands are on deck to kick off the new era with as much hype, excitement, and sports entertainment drama as possible.
As of this writing there are a handful of matches confirmed for the show. A Tribal Combat match between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa is expected to be the main event of the show.
We’ll also see CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso, and Liv Morgan defending the women’s world championship against longtime rival Rhea Ripley. There’s also reports of Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes, and John Cena all appearing. In the case of Cena, his retirement tour is set to begin on this monumental episode of RAW.
Let’s take a closer look at the available WWE odds, courtesy of the top sports betting sites, and make our WWE RAW Netflix predictions.
When Is WWE Going To Netflix?
The WWE RAW Netflix deal is reported to be worth $5 billion and for a 10-year period. However, Netflix allegedly has the option to exit this massive deal after the first five years are up, which would be at the beginning of 2030.
WWE’s Netflix debut is officially set for Monday, January 6, 2025, and you can see that Netflix already has WWE content images up and running on their platform. RAW will begin at 8pm ET on January 6, and it already features a new logo and feel to the show.
Additionally, WWE is excited to push the boundaries of content as Netflix has far more flexibility than FOX or USA does at this point in time. Could we see a modern-day incarnation of the Attitude Era?

WWE RAW on Netflix Predictions
The following WWE RAW on Netflix predictions are for the confirmed matches as of this writing:
John Cena Retirement Tour
The John Cena retirement tour officially kicks off on the WWE Netflix debut this Monday. Last July, Cena appeared at the Money in the Bank PPV and announced that he was going to retire from wrestling at the end of 2025.
Cena has only been a part-time wrestler since fully embracing his Hollywood career in 2018. It was a move that has taken the wrestler to new heights as an entertainer.
There’s a report going around that Cena could face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. In fact, Dave Meltzer has confirmed this report and added fuel to the fire:
“So for WrestleMania, the reports of Rhodes vs. John Cena are accurate as things stand right now. The idea of Cena challenging one of the two champions in an attempt to break the so-called record of 16 reigns that he and Flair share has been a working idea for months. At first it was the Raw title given Rhodes vs. Rock would be for the other title and People’s belt. This isn’t etched in stone because whatever Rock wants to do, he’s likely going to be able to do.”
Since January is officially the start of WrestleMania season, as we build towards the Royal Rumble PPV later this month, the WWE will definitely need to tip their hands on the direction they plan on heading for Cena, Rhodes and The Rock. Will we get Rhodes vs. Cena or Rhodes vs. The Rock at WM 41.
Rhodes already has a feud with The Rock stemming from last year. So, a WrestleMania match against The Rock should’ve been the end game for WWE all along. As for Cena, there are plenty of matches he could participate in depending on who is holding the other world title.
Team Mysterio vs. New Day
- Team Mysterio (-200)
- New Day (+150)
Last week, Rey Mysterio agreed to face The New Day in a tag-team match. However, his tag partner was not revealed at the time. Mysterio took offense to how Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods treated Big E in their celebratory show. They turned heel on Big E and officially began a new chapter in their WWE careers.
The WWE fans have taken to hating The New Day now. Mysterio is the embodiment of this hatred towards Kingston and Woods.
Over the last month, there have been some video promos hinting towards Penta El Zero M debuting in WWE. That super talented luchador has long been reported as heading to the WWE after a successful run with AEW as one half of The Lucha Brothers with his Rey Fenix.
Fenix is still under contract with AEW, but Penta was free and made the jump. It makes perfect sense for Penta to debut on WWE’s inaugural Netflix show in order to maximize his appearance and to add one more layer of excitement to this episode of RAW.
Penta teaming up with Mysterio is a natural entrance into the WWE Universe. And, it should pay off on RAW this week. More than likely, The New Day will get disqualified in this match, giving Team Mysterio the official victory in Penta’s debut.
Bet: Team Mysterio (-200)
Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso
- Drew McIntyre (-300)
- Jey Uso (+200)
On the December 2 episode of RAW, Jey Uso was discovered laid out backstage after an unknown assailant attacked him. Later on, that assailant was revealed to be Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Warrior made his return after a brief hiatus and declared that he was going to destroy the OG Bloodline group.
McIntyre said that The Bloodline cost him the WWE Universal Championship a few years ago, and he hasn’t forgotten it. He called out Uso and Sami Zayn and said how their true colors came out when they rejoined The Bloodline to help Roman Reigns.
Uso and McIntyre have been brawling almost every time they’re shown on RAW over the past few weeks. So, GM Adam Pearce made a match for the two men on WWE’s RAW Netflix debut.
McIntyre needs a good storyline following the superb feud with CM Punk. So, having him seek revenge on The Bloodline makes sense. How far that revenge goes up the food chain remains to be seen.
As for his storyline with Uso, this should result in McIntyre coming away with winning the war and this match on Netflix.
Bet: Drew McIntyre (-300)
CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins
- CM Punk (-175)
- Seth Rollins (+130)
The rivalry between CM Punk and Seth Rollins spans back to Punk’s return to the WWE after his decade long absence. Punk showed up at the 2023 Survivor Series PPV and stole the show as WWE fans went nuts. His debut didn’t sit well with Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins who were both involved in the War Games match.
Eventually, McIntyre would end up as the primary rival of Punk for most of 2024. Their epic storyline spanned even when Punk was out due to a torn triceps.
Rollins wasn’t left out of the equation; he was just taking a backseat while McIntyre and Punk were at war with each other. Yet, Rollins still stayed within six-degrees of Kevin Bacon to this feud. If you don’t know that pop culture reference, then I feel shame and sadness for you.
Rollins did referee a match between those two at SummerSlam, which he played an integral part in the outcome. Punk lost the match after attacking Rollins for thinking that he was sabotaging the bout. Additionally, we can’t forget how Rollins and McIntyre feuded prior to Punk vs. McIntyre.
Fast forward to the December 16 episode of RAW where the two men came face to face and began exchanging insults in the middle of the ring. It led to a brawl throughout the arena. GM Adam Pearce made an official match between the two at RAW’s Netflix debut.
Regardless of the outcome, this feud is far from over. Personally, I think we need an unsatisfying result to the match in order to keep it red hot. I would love to see McIntyre get involved, but that might be wishful thinking.
If we have to pick a winner, CM Punk seems to be the one that can benefit the most from a victory in their first match. However, I fully expect this to continue for the next few months.
Bet: CM Punk (-175)
Women’s World Title Match
- Liv Morgan (+300)
- Rhea Ripley (-500)
The rivalry between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley is a long, intense one that spans back to mid-2023. Around that time, Ripley cost Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez the tag titles. This was supposed to lead to Morgan vs. Ripley, but Rhea beat down Liv with a chair before the match could begin.
Morgan was on hiatus for a while, before returning at 2024 Royal Rumble where she swore that she would take the title from Ripley at some point.
Morgan was unsuccessful in early 2024, and eventually, Becky Lynch got the title shot at WrestleMania 40. Ripley would retain the title, but Morgan would attack her at the post-WM presser. This led to a legitimate injury and Ripley would vacate the title after holding it for a year.
At King and Queen of the Ring, last May, Morgan would win the women’s championship due to an “accidental” interference from Dominik Mysterio. This led to the eventual turn from Mysterio on Ripley a few months later at SummerSlam.
The feud between Ripley and Morgan heated up as they faced each other in tag matches and singles matches over the second half of 2024. At Bad Blood in October, Morgan retained her title in a match against Ripley after Rodriguez returned and interfered.
At Survivor Series, Ripley’s team would get the win over Morgan and others in the Women’s War Games match. Ripley pinned Morgan to give her team the victory.
A few weeks ago, Ripley was named the official #1 contender for Morgan’s title and the two would wrestle at RAW’s debut on Netflix.
So, now that we have summarized their lengthy feud, let’s get to the match itself. The WWE could go one of two ways. They could have Morgan win and keep the feud going to WrestleMania or they finally have Ripley win and change up the trajectory of this title and all parties involved.
I think they go with the latter as this feud has last long enough. The WWE has gotten as much milage out of this as possible. It’s time for Ripley to get her revenge. Plus, we need a title change on RAW’s Netflix debut. It adds to the overall excitement and impact of the show. A new era equals a new champ in my book!
Bet: Rhea Ripley (-500)
Tribal Combat Match
- Roman Reigns (-280)
- Solo Sikoa (+185)
Just like the Morgan vs. Ripley and Punk vs. Rollins bouts, this Tribal Combat match also has a lengthy history that involved betrayal and a Greek Tragedy type storyline. Let’s see if I can quickly sum this up.
Reigns lost his championship to Cody Rhodes at WM 40 last year after a 1,316 day title reign. This led to Reigns going on hiatus. Solo Sikoa decided that he was going to be the new Tribal Chief.
Following his new role with The Bloodline, Solo would remove Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman in violent fashion. He then retooled the faction with Tama Tonga, Tongo Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
Sikoa would terrorize everyone in his way including former Bloodline members, Cody Rhodes and anyone helping out Rhodes. This led to a title match against Rhodes at SummerSlam where Reigns returned and helped Rhodes win.
Rhodes and Reigns would team up together at Bad Blood and beat Solo and Fatu. Jimmy Uso returned to help them out. Eventually, they would bring Jey Uso back into the fold along with Sami Zayn. However, Zayn didn’t return until after Reigns and The Usos lost at Crown Jewel to The New Bloodline. Zayn came out and helped them after the match.
Of course, this led to a War Games match at Survivor Series between The OG Bloodline and The New Bloodline. Heyman returned at this time to rejoin Reigns and he brought CM Punk in to help Roman and company.
A few weeks later, Reigns challenged Sikoa to a match to decide who the real tribal chief was. That match was officially made for WWE’s Netflix debut. As much as I would love for Sikoa to win the match and become the official tribal chief, we all know that Reigns will win it. However, it would be awesome if McIntyre got his revenge by costing Reigns the win.
Bet: Roman Reigns (-280)
