NASCAR’s Xfinity Series will see some changes just like the Cup Series heading into the 2025 season. In addition to a new director, the Xfinity Series is underdoing a new crop of young drivers along with searching for a new title sponsor.
Xfinity is ending their 11-year run as the junior series at the conclusion of the season. However, they will still partner with NASCAR on different ventures and remain a sponsor for 23XL racing team.
On the track, the 2024 Xfinity Series champion, Justin Allgaier, enters the new season as the odds-on favorite to win the 2025 Xfinity Championship. He’s followed by Ausitn Hill, Connor Zilisch, Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer.
With that said, let’s take a look at the latest 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship odds, courtesy of the best sports betting sites, and make our early Xfinity Series Championship predictions.

Xfinity Series Championship Betting Favorites
The following drivers are considered the odds-on favorites to win the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship. Each driver listed below, features their 2024 Cup Series season stats:
Justin Allgaier +350
- Wins: 2
- Top 5: 10
- Top 10: 20
- 2024 Finish: 1st
- Career Best: 1st in 2024
The 2024 Xfinity Series season concluded with a fairytale ending as Justin Allgaier finally won his first Xfinity Championship after 15 seasons in the series.
Since 2016, when Xfinity went to their current 12-driver Playoff format, Allgaier has made the Championship Race (Final 4) in six of eight years including three in a row. He’s finished In the Top 7 of the driver standings for 14 consecutive years.
Allgaier’s Championship was the sixth for JR Motorsports and owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. It also marked the 5th straight year that a first-time winner captured the Championship. Allgaier will return to defend his title and become the first driver since 2021, to do so. That year, Austin Cindric performed the feat.
With 25 career victories, I expect the defending champ to extend his streak of at least one win in a season nine straight years. And, at 38-years old, there’s no reason to think that the veteran driver won’t contend for another Championship.
Austin Hill +550
- Wins: 4
- Top 5: 11
- Top 10: 20
- 2024 Finish: 4th
- Career Best: 4th in 2024
Austin Hill is entering his 7th season in the Xfinity Series. However, this is just his 4th full-time season. Hill led the Series with four wins last season and finished 4th overall. He was one of the Final 4 drivers and produced solid numbers across the board.
Hill might not be as flashy as other drivers in the field, but he’s very steady and consistent. In fact, only John Nemechek has more wins over the last two years than Hill. And, that’s because Nemechek tallied seven wins in 2023.
Hill, and his #21 car, is the leader of Richard Childress Racing. However, he has a highly talented teammate in Jesse Love who finished 8th last season and won Rookie of the Year.
I expect this RCR duo to have a strong 2025 season. I believe they will exceed their five combined wins from last year and potentially get to seven or eight. I also expect both drivers to make the Playoffs for a second straight year.
Hill’s ability to win at the superspeedways practically lock him into the postseason. Will this be the year that he takes that next big step and win the Xfinity Series Championship?
Connor Zilisch +700
- Wins: 1
- Top 5: 3
- Top 10: 3
- 2024 Finish: 33rd
- Career Best: 33rd in 2024
If you want to know who the pundits have pegged as the next NASCAR superstar, then look no further than Connor Zilisch. He joins Allgaier at JR Motorsports to give this team another chance at winning the Xfinity Series Championship.
Zilisch made his Xfinity debut last year at Watkins Glen. And, he won his first ever Xfinity race. The 18-year-old would go on to score three Top 5s and three Top 10s, along with that victory, in just four appearances.
His car handling skills and poise on the track make many pundits feel that Zilisch could become a genuine superstar in the Xfinity Series and then the Cup Series.
I have no doubt that this kid will compete on a weekly basis. I wouldn’t be surprised if he added a few more wins to his Xfinity resume and make the Championship Race in his first full-time season.
Sheldon Creed +800
- Wins: 0
- Top 5: 16
- Top 10: 23
- 2024 Finish: 6th
- Career Best: 6th in 2024
Some of you might be surprised to see Sheldon Creed listed so high with the sportsbooks considering he hasn’t won a Xfinity race in four seasons as a full-time driver. With that said, Creed’s consistency is the key here.
Last season, Creed finished with 16 Top 5s, 23 Top 10s, and a 9.3 average finish. This led him to a 6th place result in the standings by time it was all said and done. He was second in Top 5s, tied for first in Top 10s, and fifth in average finish among the field. Creed also had six runner-ups last year.
This will be Creed’s third team in three seasons. He will team up with Sam Mayer for the Haas Factory Team, which is an offshoot of the now defunct Stewart-Hass Racing team.
Will Creed’s model of consistency help him pick up his first career Xfinity victory? Can he parlay a victory into a Championship?
Sam Mayer +800
- Wins: 3
- Top 5: 8
- Top 10:
- 2024 Finish: 9th
- Career Best: 3rd in 2023
As mentioned, Sam Mayer will drive for the Haas Factory Team. He left JR Motorsports after three years with the team and seven career victories.
Mayer’s best season was in 2023 when he won four races and finished third overall. Last year, Mayer took a step back as he finished 9th on the year and had a subpar 18.0 average finish. Although he won three races, Mayer’s numbers were down across the board from his 2023 breakout.
Now, Mayer is tasked with trying to find his rhythm from 2023, but with a new team. That’s a tall task considering how strong this field is.
Mayer is a solid driver and just 21 years of age. So, he still has plenty of room to grow and evolve into a Champion in Xfinity. The question is whether or not he will do it this year.
Best Xfinity Series Championship Betting Value
The following drivers offer betting value to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship based on their current odds and previous racing success:
Jesse Love +1000
- Wins: 1
- Top 5: 7
- Top 10: 18
- 2024 Finish: 8th
- Career Best: 8th in 2024
19-year-old Jesse Love came out of nowhere last season to make the Playoffs and earn Rookie of the Year for the Xfinity Series. He also scored one win, five poles and 18 Top 10s. His 12.0 average finish put him as seventh best among full-time Xfinity drivers.
Love teams up with Austin Hill for Richard Childress Racing. The duo is expected to elevate RCR to become one of the top teams on the circuit. That’s saying a lot considering Joe Gibbs Racing and Junior Motorsports are the top teams in Xfinity.
I believe Love can build off of his successful rookie campaign to become a Playoff driver for a second straight season. In fact, with the Playoff experience from last year, I think that Love can actually make a serious run at the Championship Race.
At +1000 odds, I think the reigning ROY offers some betting value to win the 2025 Xfinity Series Championship.
Harrison Burton +2800
- Wins: 1
- Top 5: 1
- Top 10: 2
- 2024 Finish: 16th in the Cup Series
- Career Best: 8th in 2020 and 2021
After spending the last three years driving full-time in the Cup Series, Harrison Burton will return to the Xfinity Series and drive for AM Racing. He’s agreed to race full time in the Xfinity Series for the first time since 2021.
It was surprising that Burton was booted from the Woods Brothers in favor of Josh Berry. Burton would actually earn his first career Cup Series win and make the Playoffs, where he finished 16th overall. That was a big accomplishment for the 24-year-old.
Additionally, his win at Daytona last August was probably my favorite moment of the 2024 Cup Series season. He passed Kyle Busch at the end to win the race, while his father Jeff Burton was doing commentary.
It was an incredible, emotional moment that reminded me of when Darrell Waltrip called the Daytona 500 that his brother Michael Waltrip won. Which, sadly, was also the race we lost the legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr., but I digress.
Burton has four Xfinity Series wins over his 75 races in the circuit. His best result was 8th overall, which he did in 2020 and 2021. Those were his final years before moving up to the Cup Series.
The younger Burton made the following comments about returning to Xfinity:
“I’m excited to join AM Racing and help build it into the race-winning race team I believe it can and will be. I think this will be a great opportunity for me to take the things I’ve learned in the Cup Series, bring those to the Xfinity Series and be the best driver I can be. It’s a blessing to continue my Nascar journey, and I intend to make the most of this opportunity.”
AM Racing spent the second half of last season bringing in Cup Series drivers after booting their previous driver Hailie Deegan.
If this team can provide a car with speeds comparable to the top drivers out there, then I think Burton could have some success in Xfinity this year. He earned a lot of valuable experience racing against the best drivers for the last three years. This gives him a big edge over some of the younger talent in Xfinity.
I really like his odds and think he offers solid value.
Top Longshot To Win Xfinity Series Championship
Christian Eckes (+3300) is my longshot pick to win the Xfinity Series Championship. He replaces AJ Allmendinger who is heading to Cup Series full time. Like Burton, Eckes’ success will be heavily influenced by the car and speeds that he gets from Kaulig Racing.
Eckes moved up from the Truck Series to become the third car at Kaulig Racing along with Daniel Dye and Josh Williams. Dye is a rookie like Eckes, and Williams has been with Kaulig for a few years now.
Williams finished 18th last year, while Allmendinger finished 3rd overall in Xfinity. I think Eckes’ preseason expectations should be somewhere between those two drivers.
Eckes was brilliant in the Truck Series last year. He finished 3rd overall, but scored a Top 10 in 22 of 23 races, which led the Series. He also led the field with a 5.4 average finish, was second with 4 wins, and led with 15 Top 5s. It was a surprise that he didn’t win the championship.
Now, Eckes hopes to parlay his Truck success in the Xfinity Series. If he gets a car that performed at least as well as Allmendinger’s car did last year, then Eckes is a great longshot bet.
Who Wins the 2025 Xfinity Series Championship?
My NASCAR picks for Top 5 drivers includes Justin Allgaier, Austin Hill, Connor Zilisch, Jesse Love and Harrison Burton or Christian Eckes. Yes, I might be higher on Burton than others. But, he’s a talented driver with Cup Series Playoff experience. That has to translate well in the Xfinity Series.
Hill and Love are going to boost RCR to the upper echelon of racing teams in the Series. However, I feel like they’re going to come up short to Junior Motorsports.
I think JRM has the best racing team in Xfinity, which is evident by winning three of the last eight Xfinity Championships. Although JGR will have just as strong of cars as JRM, Joe Gibbs Racing’s drivers aren’t as talented as Allgaier and Zilisch.
Speaking of Junior Motorsports, since Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the 1998 and 1999 Xfinity Series Championships, only three other drivers have gone back-to-back like Junior.
Martin Truex Jr. (2004-05), Ricky Stenhouse (2011-12), and Tyler Reddick (2018-19) were the drivers to accomplish that feat. I’m hesitant to put Allgaier among this group to win consecutive championships especially since it took him 15 years to win his first.
Instead of Allgaier, I’m taking his JRM teammate Connor Zilisch to win the 2025 Xfinity Championship. His talent is evident and this Series isn’t too big for him. He looked like a top contender in the four Xfinity races that he competed in last year. I believe that carries over this team as he’s driving for the best team in Xfinity.
Bet: Connor Zilisch +700
