We’re getting closer to the start of the official NBA restart in Orlando, Florida.

This week, teams in the bubble have begun to play scrimmages against each other. The scrimmages started on Wednesday and will continue until this coming Tuesday.

I’ve watched a couple of the games and it has been good to see the players back on the court.

You can bet on the NBA scrimmage games at America’s Bookie or BetOnline.

NBA Headlines from the Bubble

Here are some of the recent headlines coming out of the NBA bubble:

Zion Williamson Is Back in the Bubble

Williamson had to leave the NBA bubble on July 16th to attend a family medical emergency, but he’s back now and will be able to rejoin the Pelicans on Tuesday after a four-day quarantine.

Pacers Could Be Without Two Biggest Stars

Domantas Sabonis just left the NBA bubble to deal with a foot injury. He needs to receive treatment for plantar fasciitis and he could end up missing the remainder of this season.

Sabonis wants to come back, but it’s unlikely they’ll risk playing him this season.

Victor Oladipo started in the Pacers scrimmage on Thursday, but according to reports coming out of the bubble, that doesn’t mean Oladipo is planning to play in the reseeding games.

With Sabonis now out, I expect the Pacers to keep Oladipo sidelined until next season.

Portland Welcome Back to Big Men

The Trail Blazers are 3.5 games back of the Grizzlies for #8 in the West. At the very least, Portland has a chance to play themselves into a play-in tournament if they hold onto the #9 seed.

Portland welcomed back Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins.

With these two big men back in the line-up, the Trail Blazers have a great chance to earn a spot in the NBA playoffs. However, there are several teams that will be fighting for the #8/#9 seeds in the West.

Heat Get Two Youngsters Back

Kendrick Nunn and Bam Adebayo both previously tested positive for COVID-19, but they’ve been able to return to the Heat after quarantining. Both players are pumped to play in the reseeding games.

Miami are the #4 seed in the East right now and will likely maintain that position.

Are the Clippers Committed to Winning a Championship?

With the mandatory quarantine rules in place if you leave the NBA bubble, players have to be careful about leaving the bubble. Right now, the Clippers are without Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell and now Lou Williams. It’s fine for now, but once the season restarts it won’t be.

That’s going to be a problem that all NBA teams have to deal with once we restart.

Players have lives outside of basketball and sometimes they need to attend to a situation, but with the quarantine rules, if a player leaves the bubble, they must quarantine 4+ days once back.

The Knicks Appear Ready to Sign...

While not news from the NBA bubble, as the Knicks are already enjoying the off-season, but there was a recent report out this weekend that said the Knicks are going to sign Tom Thibodeau.

Reportedly, the Knicks want to ink the head coach to a five-year deal.

Will Thibodeau be the coach that saves the Knicks and gets them back into the playoffs?

It’ll depend on the players. Thibs can be a tough coach to play for because he pushes his players hard, but if the players buy-in, Thibodeau is a coach that could improve the Knicks.
