Guard Holland Woods is eligible to play for Arizona State in 2020-21 after transferring from Portland State.

The Sun Devils said Wednesday that the 6-foot-1 senior received a waiver from the NCAA and will not have to sit out the upcoming season -- if the season is played amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Boodini's been freed," the school posted on Twitter, referencing Woods' nickname. "[He] has been granted immediate eligibility for the upcoming season!"

Woods averaged 17.7 points, 5.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 32 starts as a junior for Portland State in 2019-20, earning first-team all-league honors in the Big Sky Conference.

Over three seasons with the Vikings, the Phoenix native averaged 14.3 points, 5.4 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 97 games (87 starts). He left as the school's all-time leader in assists (521) and steals (165).
