Pittsburgh standout defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman said Saturday is he is opting out of the college season to focus on the 2021 NFL Draft.
Twyman had 41 tackles and 10.5 sacks in 2019 while earning first-team All-ACC and second-team All-American honors.
"This past year has been crazy for so many people," Twyman said in his announcement on Twitter. "It makes you realize you have responsibilities beyond yourself. That's why I have decided to opt out of the 2020 season and declare for the 2021 NFL draft, and to return home to be with my family.
"This isn't about COVID-19. This is about my family's needs, now and in the future."
Twyman is currently viewed as a second-round selection in the 2021 draft who could move up to the first round.
