Los Angeles Galaxy forward Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez said he is finally ready to return from a calf injury and is expected to play in some capacity in his team's game at San Jose on Saturday.

Chicharito, 32, was expected to be key to the Galaxy's goal-scoring chances in his first MLS season, but he hasn't played since July 13 in the first game of the MLS is Back Tournament near Orlando. The Galaxy was 0-2-1 after that game and did not advance out of group play in the tournament.

Since he has been out, though, the Galaxy have turned their season around, winning each of their last four games, with two of those victories coming against rival Los Angeles FC.

"I'm completely fit in that my calf is completely fine," Hernandez told reporters in Spanish on Thursday. "I've been training with the team four days now and I feel good, nothing at all. ... I'm going to be available probably for this weekend, and if it's one minute, 50, 60, 90 or whatever, I'm going to try my best to maintain that rhythm and that level the team is showing these last games."

Since losing to LAFC 6-2 at MLS is Back, the Galaxy is 4-0-1.

Chicharito had one goal in his first three games. Los Angeles' designated player is the all-time leading goal scorer for the Mexico National Team with 52 goals.
