The AFC South division got a massive rebrand this offseason with three new starting quarterbacks coming in. The Titans are the defending division champions after going 11-5, and the Indianapolis Colts also made the playoffs.
The Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off of forgettable seasons with hopes of improving.
Odds to Win AFC South in 2021
Tennessee Titans Team Preview 2021
The Titans are +105 favorites to top the division in 2021. They are led by perennial MVP candidate at running back Derrick Henry and are solid all-around.
Julio Jones was acquired via trade in the offseason and will pose a massive threat opposite A.J. Brown. First-round NFL draft pick Caleb Farley also has a lot of promise, despite injury concerns, and could start immediately at corner.
Tennessee made the AFC Championship game in 2020, though they must win a much-improved division before they get back.
Indianapolis Colts Team Preview 2021
The Colts have been given +110 odds at winning the AFC South, barely behind the rival Titans. Indianapolis traded for quarterback Carson Wentz after Philip Rivers retired, taking a chance on a former MVP runner-up.
The strength of Indy is in its exceptional offensive line, but they also have a top-half defense, led by Darius Leonard. The three-year pro has already made two All-Pro first teams, a Second-Team All-Pro, and two Pro Bowls.
The Colts were good last year, no more, no less. But if Wentz can return to the form he showed a few years ago, they could leap into prominence.
Jacksonville Jaguars Team Preview 2021
The Jags are third in the odds at +900; however, they are an extremely exciting project.
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is the best prospect since Andrew Luck and is teaming up with his college running back, Travis Etienne. Jacksonville also has James Robinson, who rushed for over 1,000 yards as a rookie, giving their QB weapons to use.
The Jags rebuilding effort is being led by Urban Meyer, recently of Ohio State. Meyer is known for his rigorous, win-at-all-costs approach and will turn the Jaguars into a fun team to watch.
Houston Texans Team Preview 2021
At +1800, Houston is not expected to do much other than lose.
The Texans mortgaged their future around Deshaun Watson, who will not be returning until his legal issues are settled. Without him in the lineup, the 2019 champions have little to no hope.
Houston will be without its complements of J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins, both now of the Arizona Cardinals, as well. The Texans do not have much going for them, sadly.
2021 AFC South Predictions
The team that is going to win this division is the Indianapolis Colts. At +110, their value is not terrific, but it is a positive return in a tough division to win.
The Colts should get the best out of Wentz, who will be protected properly for the first time since 2017. They won in spite of their QB at times and now have the opportunity to win because of him.
There is no sleeper pick in the AFC South— the Texans are hopeless, and Jacksonville does not have the defense. The division crown will be won by either the Colts or the Titans, without a doubt.
PICK: Indianapolis Colts +110
