2021 NBA Finals MVP Betting Lines and Best Bet

The matchup for this season’s best-of-seven showdown in the NBA Finals is set. The No. 3 Milwaukee Bucks will represent the Eastern Conference while the No. 2 Phoenix Suns proved to be the best team in the Western Conference this year.

Where to Bet on the NBA Finals

This championship series gets underway on Tuesday night with Game 1 at 9 p.m. (ET) on ABC. Phoenix will host the first two games with the home court advantage for Game 7 if things go the distance.

Suns Favored to Win 2021 NBA Championship

Betting lines (What Is a Betting Line?) for the opener favor Phoenix by six points at home. The total line for Game 1 is set at 217.5 points.

The series price odds for this showdown also lean towards the Suns as -190 favorites. The Bucks have been opened as +165 underdogs to win this series.

One of the most popular NBA props for any NBA Finals series is Most Valuable Player. A top-rated online sportsbook has posted betting odds covering this prop for seven different players.

Paul or Booker to Win NBA Finals MVP?

The frontrunner to win MVP honors at +125 odds is the Suns’ point guard Chris Paul. When it comes to scoring, he has averaged 18.1 points through 14 playoff games. This is slightly higher than his 16.4-point scoring average in the regular season. After posting 8.9 assists a game this season, he has dished out an average of 8.7 assists in the postseason.

Paul’s upside is his role as a veteran leader on this team. If he plays to his capabilities to lead the Suns to a NBA title, he should win this award. The downside is a nagging hand injury. It should hold him back with the 2021 NBA title on the line but it still remains a valid concern.

The main competition should come from his teammate Devin Booker as a +250 second-favorite. He is another reason why Phoenix has made a successful run all the way to this year’s NBA Finals.

Through a total of 16 postseason games, he is averaging 27 PPG with 4.8 assists and 6.4 rebounds. A big series by Booker coupled with a Phoenix win could swing some strong MVP support his way. Booker offers solid value at +250 odds, but some of that is lost with Paul being the more higher-profile veteran among the two.

Bucks fans who believe that Milwaukee has what it takes to win this series will find some excellent value in NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo at +325. If the Bucks do go on to win this series as underdogs, you would have to believe that one of the league’s best players had a major hand in making it happen.

Betting Giannis is all about your confidence level in the Bucks. He does offer some tremendous value in his posted odds. Working against that value is his injury situation. If his right knee continues to be an issue in this series, Milwaukee’s chances of winning drop significantly.

The other players on this list will play a big role in their team’s fortunes in this series but I do not see any of them carrying their team to the title over this best-of-seven affair.
