This year’s NFL Draft is still 10 days away and you can already find NFL futures odds posted to win Offensive Rookie of the Year for the 2021 regular season. That should not come as that big of a surprise considering this year’s level of talent at all the skill positions.

Betting the Favorites
When a player is expected to be the first overall pick of the draft, it also stands to reason that this same player will have an immediate impact on their new team. That is the case with former Clemson standout Trevor Lawrence.
Prop bet odds strongly suggest that he will be the new starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They will be on the clock first on Thursday, April 29 when the league’s college player draft gets underway.
With posted odds of +275 to win NFL Rookie of the Year honors, Lawrence should get a chance to impress the voters of this award as the team’s starter in Week 1 of the 2021 season. Playing for the NFL’s 28th -ranked offense will be a challenge right out of the gate. The good news is that Jacksonville can easily double its win total under Lawrence after going 1-15 in 2020.
The best betting value among the favorites would be former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields at +300 with one big caveat. He needs to come off the draft board at No. 3 to the San Francisco 49ers.
They went 6-10 last season and are still just a few season’s removed from a run all the way to the Super Bowl. Fields will be playing for an offense that was ranked a much more respectable 15th in total yards.
Contenders With High Value Odds
The ceiling for former LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been set rather high as the best player at his position in this year’s draft. If he comes off the board with the fifth overall pick in the draft to the Cincinnati Bengals, the value in his +1200 odds becomes extremely attractive.
Chase would be reunited with former Tigers’ quarterback Joe Burrow as the top pick in last year’s draft. You might want to place that bet now since those odds are likely to come way down if the Bengals decide to go this way.
Another player you could add to this category is Najee Harris at +1400 odds. He was a running back with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Harris was also instrumental in that team’s run to a national title last year.
As the best back on paper in this year’s draft, Harris should land the starting role with whichever NFL team drafts him.
Finding a High Value Longshot
Every player on this NFL futures list to win offensive ROY has value in their odds considering what they were able to accomplish at the college level. The best value lies in the players that could have an immediate impact at the next level.
If you are looking for a play at longer odds, you should add former Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore to your list at +2000 odds. At 5-ffot-9, 175 lbs., size may be an issue as compared to the prototype for NFL wide receiver. Moore has also bee plagued with injuries throughout his college career.
However, his versatility as a punt and kick returner adds value to his chances to make that immediate impact that could catch voter’s eyes. It does not hurt that he posted a 4.29 time in the 40 during a pro day performance.
