We are just a couple of months away from the start of the 2022 college football season, and betting odds have been set for all of the teams in the country. There are some great ways to bet on college football, including looking at regular-season win totals.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are once again expected to be one of the best, if not the best, teams in the country. This can be seen when looking at the projected win totals, as Alabama has odds set at 10.5.
You can bet on the Crimson Tide to go over 10.5 wins with odds at -190, or you can take the under at +145. These odds suggest that anything less than 11 wins would be a disappointment for the Crimson Tide, and that’s something that they don’t often do.
Alabama was in the national championship game a season ago, falling to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Crimson Tide have been a title contender for the past decade, and head coach Nick Saban always seems to have a team loaded with talent.
Young Leading the Way
Quarterback Bryce Young is back to lead the offense at Alabama, and he is one of the betting favorites to win the Heisman Trophy at +400. Barring injury, Young should have some of the best offensive numbers in the country, but he will have some new talent to throw the ball to.
Young threw 47 touchdowns in 2021 while also throwing for nearly 4,900 yards and seven interceptions. The Crimson Tide just have so much talent that it’s hard to see Young and the passing game having worse numbers this season.
Alabama also has a stable of talented running backs, and that offense is going to do some serious damage against opponents, even against great SEC defenses.
Controlling the SEC
The SEC continues to be the best conference in college football, but there have been very few teams even come close to challenging the Crimson Tide. Alabama is a huge betting favorite to win the SEC Championship with odds set at -400, and they should roll through most of those games.
The Crimson Tide do have a tough test against Texas A&M early in the season, and the Aggies upset Alabama a season ago. Alabama is also set to go on the road to Texas in Week 2 for a battle with the Longhorns, but that’s really the only non-conference test.
2022 Crimson Tide Regular Season Win Total Prediction
Best Bet: Over 10.5 Wins
Alabama is coming into this season with revenge on their minds, and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the SEC and all of college football. Bryce Young has a great chance at winning the Heisman Trophy this season, and that defense is going to be better than it was a year ago.
The Crimson Tide are likely going to be favored in every game they play this season, and going undefeated is not out of the question. Take the over 10.5 wins for Nick Saban and his Crimson Tide team.
