2023 MLS Week 3 Odds and Predictions

The 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) season is in full swing, with Week 3 set to kick-off this Saturday, March 11th 2023. Accordingly, I have scoured the odds to find the best MLS bets for this weekend. Feel free to take advantage of my recommended picks!

Charlotte FC vs. Atlanta United Picks

Best Bet: Atlanta United to Win (+190)

It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Charlotte FC has endured a disappointing start to the 2023 Major League Soccer season. After losing 1-0 to the New England Revolution, Charlotte suffered a 3-1 defeat to first-year side St. Louis City SC last time out.

On the flip side, Atlanta United claimed a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes before drawing 1-1 with Toronto FC. Having taken four points from a possible six so far, the Five Stripes will be confident of inflicting a third successive defeat on Charlotte.

MLS Predictions

Minnesota United vs. New York Red Bulls Picks

Best Bet: Under 2.5 Goals (-138)

Minnesota United secured a 1-0 win against FC Dallas on the opening weekend before sitting out for Week 2. Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls lost 1-0 to Orlando City in their first match before playing out a goalless draw with Nashville SC.

That means the Red Bulls have failed to find the back of the net this season, conceding just once in the process. Since Minnesota has bagged a solitary goal in 2023, I expect Saturday’s clash between the teams to be a low-scoring encounter.

New York City FC vs. Inter Miami Picks

Best Bet: Inter Miami to Win (+320)

Inter Miami occupies first place in the Eastern Conference following back-to-back 2-0 wins. After dispatching CF Montreal in Week 1, the Herons secured a hugely impressive victory over last season’s MLS Cup runner-up, the Philadelphia Union.

By contrast, New York City FC has managed to take just one point from a possible six this year. Following a 2-0 loss against Nashville and a 1-1 draw with Chicago Fire, NYCFC will struggle to avoid defeat in Week 3. In my eyes, odds of +320 for the Miami win are too tasty to turn down.

Portland Timbers vs. St. Louis City SC Picks

Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals (-154)

Believe it or not, St. Louis City occupies second place in the Western Conference, having kicked off their debut MLS campaign in style. The newcomers beat Austin FC 3-2 on the opening weekend before crushing Charlotte FC 3-1 last time out.

The Portland Timbers were involved in a high-scoring game of their own in Week 2, suffering a 3-2 defeat to Los Angeles FC. Since Portland and St. Louis have already combined for nine goals this season, they look destined to dish up over 2.5 goals this weekend.

Nashville SC vs. CF Montreal Picks

Best Bet: Nashville SC to Win (-118)

CF Montreal is rooted to the foot of the Eastern Conference following back-to-back defeats, with a 2-0 loss at Inter Miami preceding a 1-0 defeat at Austin. This weekend, the Canadian side faces an unbeaten Nashville SC outfit at GEODIS Park.

Nashville defeated New York City 2-0 on the opening weekend before playing out a goalless draw with the Red Bulls last time out. With that in mind, I’m confident that Gary Smith’s men will inflict another defeat on Montreal.
