Best NFL Teaser Picks for Week 5

Last week, Coach Rick’s tease of the Bears and the Seahawks proved productive. The Dolphins fought hard but ultimately lost to Seattle 31-23.

The Bears, on the other hand, helped Coach Rick out with a late touchdown and two-point conversion to lose 19-11. We teased the Bears to +8.5.

Finally, we teased Tampa Bay down to -1 and wouldn’t you know the Bucs won 38-31. We’ll celebrate our Week 4 teasers as we prepare to do the same in Week 5.

Panthers vs. Falcons Week 5 Teaser Picks

Spread: Panthers +3.5 / Tease: Panthers +9.5

For some reason the Falcons are a 3.5-point home favorite against Carolina. Well, Coach Rick surmises the reasoning is the five straight Falcons wins in the series. Or maybe it’s the eight wins in the last nine meetings.

Anyway, Atlanta is favored by just over a field goal. Sorry, but the Falcons defense is one of the worst NFL defenses of the last decade. They are giving up 34.5 points a game!

And, let’s add in head coach Dan Quinn and opponents’ records during his five-plus years with the Falcons. Teams are 47-37 ATS against Quinn.

Let’s take out the 2016 season when Quinn had Kyle Shanahan running his offense. That makes Falcons’ opponents 41-27 ATS. Underdog opponents are 33-18 ATS against Quinn.

This is a no-brainer tease.

Texans vs. Jaguars Week 5 Teaser Picks

Spread: Texans -6.5 / Tease: Texans -0.5

Houston came within a Patrick Mahomes-fueled two-and-a-half-quarter rally from playing for an AFC championship last year. The Texans have won two straight AFC South Division titles.

Yet, Houston is off to an 0-4 start in 2020. It almost doesn’t seem possible with a quarterback like Deshaun Watson and a defense led by DE J.J. Watt.

The Texans haven’t covered a spread yet either, but with a tease this week Coach Rick thinks they get a win straight up on the moneyline and ATS.

Houston has won four straight over Jacksonville and eight of the last ten. The Jags are coming off another poor showing and are now giving up 29.3 points and 399.5 yards of total offense per game.

Plus, the Jags have a host of injuries that could leave them shorthanded on Sunday.

At some point, Houston has to win a game right? What better than a win over a team the Texans have owned for the better part of the last five seasons.

Bills vs. Titans Week 5 Teaser Picks

Spread: Bills -8.5 / Tease: Bills -2.5

The Titans didn’t play last week due to a number of positive coronavirus tests. They could end up minus a few key players on Sunday against Buffalo.

That’s not really the big issue though. The Titans could very easily be 0-3 instead of 3-0. They have won their three games by a combined six points and won each game in the final two minutes with a field goal.

Buffalo is a legitimate 4-0 and QB Josh Allen is a rising star. Allen went 24-of-34 for 288 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s Bills win over the Raiders. It was Buffalo’s eight win in its last 11 road games. The Bills will play at Tennessee on Sunday.

Of note is Allen’s ATS record on the road as a starter. In road starts, the young signal-caller is a cool 10-3-2 ATS.

These two teams have played each other in each of the past two seasons. Buffalo has won both games – last year 14-7 and in 2018 by a score of 13-12. Bet the Bills down to -2.5 on your NFL teaser bets this weekend.
