In a rare twist this season, the total went OVER in eight of last Sunday’s 12 NFL Games. Through the first 14 weeks of the NFL season, betting the UNDER has still paid off 55.2% of the time.
Heading into this Sunday’s NFL games, the following five are my best bets when it comes to making money on the posted totals.
Jets at Dolphins Week 15 Total
Best Bet: UNDER 43
The Jets continue to play out the string at 3-10 straight-up while the 6-7 Dolphins need a win to keep their wild card playoff hopes alive. New York has scored a combined 27 points in its last two games.
Miami brings a SU five-game winning streak into this AFC East clash. The total has stayed UNDER in seven of its last 10 games against the Jets, including a 24-17 victory on Nov. 21. The total has stayed UNDER in five of the Dolphins’ last six games overall.
Washington at Eagles Week 15 Total
Best Bet: OVER 43.5
Each of these NFC East rivals are fighting for a wild card playoff spot at 6-7 SU. Washington is coming off a tough loss to Dallas while the Eagles are coming off their bye. Philadelphia has scored at least 30 points in each of its last four SU wins.
The total has gone OVER in five of the last seven meetings in Philadelphia. The total has also gone OVER in five of the Eagles last seven games overall. Against a low total line, look for the final score to go OVER again this Sunday.
Cowboys at Giants Week 15 Total
Best Bet: UNDER 45
The Cowboys are in the driver seat for the NFC East Division title at 9-4 while the Giants can only play the role of spoiler at 4-9. The first meeting this season went way OVER the total line with Dallas rolling to a 44-20 victory at home.
Dallas should win this game with relative ease in what could be a lower scoring affair than expected. The total has stayed UNDER in six of the Cowboys’ last seven games. It has also stayed UNDER in six of New York’s last seven outings.
Texans at Jaguars Week 15 Total
Best Bet: UNDER 41
Two of the three AFC teams already eliminated from the playoffs clash in this AFC South matchup. Houston has scored a combined 177 points in its first 13 games with Jacksonville topping out at 180. Each team is 2-11 SU.
The total went OVER 45.5 points in Houston’s 37-21 victory against Jacksonville in Week 1. However, it has stayed UNDER in the Texans’ last five games on the road. It has also stayed UNDER in Jacksonville’s last eight games overall.
Falcons at 49ers Week 15 Total
Best Bet: OVER 45.5
This is a key matchup for each of these NFC foes with a wild card playoff spot on the line. The total has stayed UNDER in five of Atlanta’s last seven games but the Falcons juts put up 29 points in Sunday’s win. The 49ers have scored at least 26 points in four of their last five games.
The total has gone OVER in 10 of the Falcons’ last 13 games against a team from the NFC West. The total has gone OVER in four of San Francisco’s last five NFC games. This could actually be one of the higher scoring games this Sunday.
