Biggest Betting News from a Saturday Full of Sports

Saturday was an extremely three busy day in the sports betting world.

Our new sponsor, GameAdvisers.com, wants to recap a busy day for sports handicappers.

The day got started early on, as for the first time in a long time, the UFC pay-per-view (PPV) card was live in the afternoon (ET time). The UFC 254 PPV card got underway at 2:00 PM ET. Our in-house UFC handicapper Scott went 4-0 on his UFC 254 picks.

UFC 254 Results – Khabib Nurmagomedov Retires

Nine of the 13 fights at UFC 254 yesterday were ended by stoppage, including the main event.

Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Justin Gaethje in the main event. Nurmagomedov is one of the all-time UFC greats, but it looks like his career has come to an early end.

Nurmagomedov announced he was retiring after defeating Gaethje.

“The Eagle” will finish with a 29-0 professional record. His father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who was a mentor to many MMA fighters, passed away in July due to COVID-19 complications.

It’s sad to see Nurmagomedov retire in his prime, but you definitely can’t fault him.

This will definitely open up the UFC lightweight division again. Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, Tony Ferguson and even Conor McGregor will all want to likely have a crack at claiming the undisputed title.

College Football Bettor Wagers $8600 to win $8.60 on Clemson

We have a frontrunner for the dumbest bet of the year.

On Saturday, FanDuel Sportsbook was one of the only online bookies where you could bet the moneyline in the Syracuse vs. Clemson game. Clemson were –100000 odds to win the game straight-up.

For some reason, a bettor decided to wager $8600 to win a mere $8.60. What’s the upside on a bet like this? The risks far outweigh the benefits. The bet makes zero sense at all.

The Tigers ran away with the game in the second half and won 47-21, so the bettor did win $8.60, but early in the third quarter, the Orange scored a touchdown to make the score 27-21.

I’m sure this bettor was sweating a bit after that touchdown.

To avoid making bone-headed mistakes like this bettor, you should follow GameAdvisers.

They use artificial intelligence and a proprietary staking plan to win consistently.

Rays Even Up World Series Against Dodgers

To close out an exciting Saturday of sports betting action, we had the World Series.

Game 4 of the World Series was last night and the Rays evened up the series (2-2). The game was one of the most exciting we’ve seen in a while and it ended on an insane play.

Brett Phillips was the unlikely hero in the ninth inning.

After coming into the game as a pinch runner, Phillips came up to the plate in the ninth inning with two outs and he hit a single that was misplayed multiple times.

Randy Arozarena came flying around third base, but he tripped. However, the throw home was off the line and Will Smith missed it, allowing Arozarena to compose himself and dive home.

You have to see the ending to believe it. Watch the video we’ve attached above.

Game 5 of the MLB World Series is tonight and we have a Rays vs. Dodgers prediction.
