Despite Tulsa and Cincinnati not playing last week, Coach Rick sported a perfect 3-0 record last week as Iowa and Army both covered and, as promised, North Carolina and Miami went well over 65 points. This week, it’s championship week and Coach Rick has your bets for college football’s week 16.

(#15) Northwestern vs. (#3) Ohio State Predictions
Northwestern (6-1) has had a great ride thanks to a very strong defense. Ohio State got lucky when the Big Ten changed its rules to allow the Buckeyes (5-0), instead of Indiana (6-1) to play for the conference title. Initially, the Big Ten had said that a team must play in six games to be eligible for championship game.
Regardless, there is no question the Buckeyes are the better team here. The bigger question is can they cover a nearly three-touchdown spread? Ohio State is just 3-2 ATS this season and they have been double-digit favorites in all five of their games.
Northwestern is going to have a tough time scoring. The Wildcats rely heavily on the run ranking 60th in the nation in rushing. The passing game leaves much to be desired averaging just 180 yards a game. While Ohio State will rack up the points, Northwestern will struggle which means bettors should be thinking Under in the Big Ten title game.

(#12) Oklahoma vs. (#8) Iowa State Predictions
Iowa State’s season really took off after an upset of Oklahoma earlier this year. The Sooners have been on fire ever since too. Oklahoma hasn’t lost since back-to-back losses to Kansas State and the Cyclones.
Neither team has played since Dec. 5. Oklahoma beat Baylor 27-14 and Iowa State beat up on West Virginia 42-6. The difference in Saturday’s Big 12 title game will likely come down to defense. Oklahoma has the nation’s third-best run defense and Iowa State has only given up 26 points in its last three games.
The Cyclones running game averages 200 yards a game led by Breece Hall who has 1,357 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. Hall rushed for 139 yards and two scores in the first game against Oklahoma. With the Sooners giving six points, it just makes sense to take the Cyclones.
Iowa State is 4-1 ATS in its last five games and is 5-0 ATS in its last five against the Sooners.
BEST BET: IOWA STATE +6

(#19) Louisiana vs. (#9) Coastal Carolina Predictions
The Sun Belt Championship game should be one of the most exciting of all title games in 2020. The unbeaten Coastal Carolina Chanticleers have captured the nation’s attention with a unique brand of football heavily baked in underdog mentality.
CCU already has a win over Louisiana, 30-27, this season. It was as close as close can be. CCU had 414 yards of total offense. Louisiana had 413. Both teams ran the ball for over 200 yards. The difference was a Massimo Biscardi 40-yard field goal with four seconds to play.
This time around, expect more of the same. Two teams that rely heavily on the run will attempt to keep the ball away from the other’s offense. The difference could be the quarterbacks. Louisiana’s Levi Lewis can beat you with his arm and his feet. Lewis has thrown for 17 touchdowns and run for five more.
This is a classic championship game battle. CCU has been a side bettor’s best friend this season going 7- 1-1 ATS in their last nine games. Louisiana is 6-0 SU in its last six on the road and the 4-2 ATS in their last six overall games. This one will be close again.
BEST BET: LOUISIANA +4

#1 Alabama vs. (#11) Florida Predictions
Who throws a shoe? Florida’s Marco Wilson will go down in Gators history as the guy that threw the shoe. In the heat of the moment, Wilson threw LSU TE Kole Taylor’s shoe after tackling him. An ensuing unsportsmanlike conduct penalty allowed LSU to march on and kick what would be the game-winning field.
That was last week and now Florida must deal with No. 1 Alabama. If there has been one constant in this crazy 2020 college football season, it has been the Crimson Tide. The Tide has given up 53 points in its last six games. It’s toughest opponent was Georgia, which they beat by 17.
Alabama has beaten Florida six times in a row. The margins of victory in each of those last six are 38, 14, 21, 28, 25, and 19 points. Even if star Kyle Pitts plays for the Gators, the Crimson Tide is cashing in on another SEC Title.
BEST BET: ALABAMA -17
