College Football Teaser Predictions for Week 6

Week 6 of the college football season means more conference matchups and more big games with nice spreads. As we move into conference play, we often see teasers get a bit stronger as we attempt to find lines that take advantage of the numbers as much as possible.

NCAA Football 6-Point Teaser Picks for Week 6

Wake Forest vs. Syracuse Teaser Picks

Best Bet: Wake Forest (-0.5)

This is not the ideal number to tease, but it’s not horrible getting us through 3, 4, and 6 in a conference game on the road. I think that Wake Forest is clearly the better team here and this offense will score points one way or another. I love Wake in this matchup and getting them as a pick’em is very nice.

Virginia vs. Louisville Teaser Picks

Best Bet: Virginia (+8.5)

This is one of my favorite spots of the week with a Virginia offense that looks really impressive when they are not taking negative plays. This offensive line is not great, but the QB, RB, and WR play have all been above average and well above expectation this season. I expect this game to be back and forth and getting 2 scores is fantastic.

Wisconsin vs. Illinois Teaser Picks

Best Bet: Illinois (+16)

We don’t get a hook on 16 or up to 17, but getting over 10, 13, and 14 in a game that just cannot be super high scoring feels great. We saw a Wisconsin team 2 years ago head into Champaign and lose outright with the same formula and a much, much better offense. Now Wisconsin cannot score with any consistency and we need them to win by 3 scores on the road in the conference? Yes, please.

Oklahoma vs. Texas Teaser Picks

Best Bet: Texas (+13.5)

I love the Longhorns here outright and while we would love to see this number be 14 or higher, I will still lay the 13 in this matchup. Oklahoma can’t beat an FBS team by 14. They’ve had 4 tries and all of them were unsuccessful. They haven’t even won by 2 scores.

I think that the Longhorns have a matchup advantage with Bijan Robinson vs. this Oklahoma scheme that has struggled to deal with motion and covering RBs out of the backfield. Let’s roll with Texas here going through a bunch of key numbers.

Penn State vs. Iowa Teaser Picks

Best Bet: Penn State (+12)

This one gets a bit scary with the understanding that Iowa has one of the best ball-hawking secondaries in recent CFB history through 5 weeks. However, I think that Penn State is the more talented team here and I’ll take that and the points in such a low-scoring game.

Maryland vs Ohio State Teaser Picks

Best Bet: Ohio State (-10.5)

Ohio State has been going through quite the transformation on the defensive side of the ball and this means schematically, who is calling plays, and who is playing. This is one of the younger and more inexperienced teams in the country but they have shown rapid improvement and the talent on the field is undeniable when we think about their recruiting pedigree. This won’t be another Iowa performance for Maryland, but I think that they will run into some issues throughout the game.

What won’t have issues is this Ohio State offense, which looked incredible last week with a healthy CJ Stroud. They averaged 9.5 yards and only failed to score a touchdown once with the starters on a drive that went 64 yards and ended with a field goal on the 6-yard line. I just think Ohio State will score plenty to cover this number.
