College Football Week 11 Predictions and Betting Lines

In a crazy 2020 college football season, Coach Rick took it on the chin in Week 10. Sometimes that happens. Sometimes, teams forget to play defense or sometimes your head coach trades in his traditional khakis to wear black pants and then you end up losing to Indiana.

At least Notre Dame came through with a double-overtime win (and cover) for their 23 rd straight home victory.

(#1) Alabama vs. LSU Predictions

Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, this game has been postponed because of COVID-19.

With Clemson’s double-overtime loss to Notre Dame last week, Alabama moves up into the No. 1 spot. Their first opponent as the nation’s new No. 1 will be last year’s national champion and Crimson Tide rival LSU. Head coach Nick Saban and the Tide will look to exact revenge for last year’s 46-41 defeat at the hands of the Tigers.

What a difference a year makes. Alabama picked up where it left off and has ripped all six of its opponents a new one. The Tide averages 47.2 points per game behind QB Mac Jones who has completed an eye-popping 78.2 percent of his passes for 2,196 yards and 16 touchdowns. Jones is now the favorite in the Heisman Trophy race.

The Tide has scored 40 or more in five straight games and has gone Over in five of its last seven SEC games. Despite all its shortcomings in 2020, LSU is still averaging 43 points at home this year. The Tigers have scored 40 or more in eight of their last ten games at Tiger Stadium.

Even though it’s a huge number, expect another shootout in Death Valley.

College Football Predictions and CFB Game Recaps

(#11) Oregon vs. Washington State Predictions

It’s good to see the Pac-12 back in action. Oregon started slowly last week, but turned it on to beat Stanford 35-14 in its opener. The Ducks will face Washington State (1-0), a 38-28 winner over Oregon State.

With new offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead taking over the Ducks offense, Oregon is scored touchdowns on four of its final five drives last week. The Ducks’ offense stacks up well with Ohio State and Alabama in terms of Success Rate and Pace.

Knowing that plus the fact that Oregon is 1-6 ATS in its last seven games at Washington State has Coach Rick thinking about the Total in this one too. The Over has hit in six of Oregon’s last nine games. In the last 17 Oregon-Washington State games, the Total has gone Over 12 times.

(#23) Northwestern vs. Purdue Predictions

In its young Big Ten season thus far, Northwestern has proven it can do two things very well – run the football and play defense. The Wildcats are 3-0 because they have been able to rush for over 205 yards per game and hold opponents to just 12 points a game.

Now, Northwestern will travel to Purdue, a team it has enjoyed some success against…at least from a bettor’s perspective. The Wildcats are 6-3 ATS in their last nine games against the Boilermakers.

Narrowing it down a little more, we see that Northwestern is 5-1 ATS in its last six games against Purdue on the road.

Purdue star WR Rondale Moore will be out once again which will hurt the Boilermakers offense. Purdue does not run the ball all that well anyway – 94.5 rushing yards per game – which will allow Northwestern the opportunity to get after Purdue QB Peyton Ramsey.
