College Football Week 15 Predictions and Odds

Coach Rick looks to redeem himself from a rough Week 14. There are three matchups of ranked opponents, including the one that may be overlooked – Cincinnati at Tulsa.

The other game that hopefully is not overlooked is the annual Army-Navy clash. For the first time in many years, the game goes on campus in West Point with the Black Knights looking to avenge last year’s 31-7 loss.

Here’s Coach Rick’s take on the best games from Week 15.

(#20) North Carolina vs. (#9) Miami Predictions

The North Carolina offense is a difficult one to stop. Miami will do its best to slow down the nation’s 12th-best scoring offense (40.9 ppg). QB Sam Howell is over 3,100 yards for the season to go with 26 touchdowns. The backfield tandem of Michael Carter and Javonte Williams has combined for 1,841 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns.

On the other side, Miami has electric QB D’Eriq King (2,336 yards passing, 20 TDs) who leads an offense that averages 35 points a game. One thing is almost certain. Both of these teams will light up the scoreboard.

Ten of North Carolina’s last fourteen road games have seen the Total go Over and the Over has cashed in four of the Tar Heels last six games.

BEST BET: OVER 65

(#25) Wisconsin vs. (#19) Iowa Predictions

Coach Rick did not see Indiana’s defense rising up and shutting down Wisconsin last week. Iowa has another outstanding defense. The Hawkeyes have not given up 25 points to an opponent in 21 straight games. Iowa is 16-5 overall in those 21 games.

Wisconsin has won the last four in this series and seven of the last eight, but the Badgers offense is struggling. Wide receivers Danny Davis and Kendric Pryor may be out and starting center Kayden Lyles left last week’s loss to Indiana with an injury.

The Badgers have struggled on the road recently going 1-5 straight up against teams with a winning record.

BEST BET: IOWA -3

(#7) Cincinnati vs. (#18) Tulsa Predictions

This may be the most interesting matchup of the weekend. Both Cincy and Tulsa excel on defense, which may lead many bettors to play on the Under. The Under has cashed in 10 of Cincinnati’s last 14 games (What is an over/under bet?).

But, Tulsa is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games. This matchup opened with the Bearcats as a 3-point favorite, but the line has jumped all the way up to Cincinnati -11.5. Cincy averages 41 points a game, but the Golden Hurricane give up just 19.9 per game. Plus, they are 3-0 at home.

Tulsa will be pumped as a win over Cincy will earn the Hurricane a berth in the AAC championship game where they will play … Cincinnati.

BEST BET: TULSA +11.5

Navy vs. Army Predictions

How could we not have a prediction for the one game that exemplifies what college football is all about? For the first time since 1892, the annual Army-Navy clash will be held on the campus of the Black Knights. The coronavirus led to the move.

Navy (3-6) has lost four straight. Army (7-2) has not played since a 28-27 victory over Georgia Southern on November 21. The Knights are once again among the national leaders in rushing yards per game (296.7) and time of possession.

The Midshipmen have had their share of difficulties getting their triple option offense going this season. Navy is averaging an uncharacteristic 185.3 yards rushing per game in 2020. The Army defense is likely the difference in this one. Army gives up just 289.3 total yards per game.

BEST BET: ARMY -6.5
