College Football Week 4 Over/Under Predictions

The weekend can’t get here soon enough during football season and while this week doesn’t have many marquee matchups, that doesn’t mean there is nothing to look forward to. There are plenty of games to bet on and spots to target if you are ready to get into the weeds a bit when identifying the best matchup and playstyle clashes of the week.

Kent State Golden Flashes vs. Maryland Terrapins

Kent State vs. Maryland Predictions

Best Bet: OVER 68.5 Points

This is one that I saw at 66.5 earlier in the week and I will continue to love it into the low 70s. These 2 teams are coming off of rough matchups in terms of pace and player quality and I think that this is a get-right spot for both offenses.

Kent State plays at one of the fastest rates in the country with a QB that has the potential to get drafted in the upcoming NFL draft. While they aren’t a Big Ten team in the trenches, they can hold up and give the offense enough time to make plays and Maryland WILL allow them, unlike recent matchups against Iowa and Texas A&M where they struggled to score.

Similarly, Maryland is coming off of games vs. Illinois and West Virginia, both teams that would pride themselves as being “scrappy” on defense. Kent State is simply not that in any capacity and barring systemic overhauls to implement a bunch of solid drop 8 coverages this week, I think we see explosive plays early and often for Maryland in this one.

UCLA Bruins vs. Stanford Cardinal

UCLA vs. Stanford Predictions

Best Bet: OVER 58.5 Points

This line doesn’t make a ton of sense to me if you have watched each team over the last few weeks. UCLA should have scored over 50 against Fresno State last week and I think that is a loss that will be a bit overblown. UCLA made some bad plays, but they were also getting open downfield at a great rate to go along with a running QB capable of scrambling or throwing on the run downfield.

Stanford has looked like a new offense under Tanner McKee and it makes tons of sense. McKee is a college football veteran, even without a ton of live snaps and he was a top 50 recruit in 2018, meaning that the success recently doesn’t feel like some major outlier. McKee looks great out there making plays and I expect the same on Saturday.

Expert NCAAF Picks

Clemson Tigers vs. NC State Wolfpack

Clemson vs. NC State Predictions

Best Bet: UNDER 47.5 Points

This one is very cut and dry. The Clemson defense is solid and should be prepared to win a slugfest in conference play if they have to. While this isn’t ideal for a top-3 CFB program at the moment, that is just where they are at.

The offensive personnel and structure just stinks in tandem and I will be riding Clemson unders until they prove that they have made significant changes in their offensive approach. Right now, the defense looks great and the offense is running jet sweeps to 6’4 receivers and running into their own man on passing routes. This is a disaster.
