College Football Week 7 Point Spread Picks

The picture for the College Football Playoff is starting to shape up nicely. When it comes to high-profile match-ups, there will be no shortage of good games in week 7. Here’s a look at which ones are worth picking against the spread.

NCAA Football Bookies

Alabama Crimson Tide vs Tennessee Volunteers

Alabama vs. Tennessee Picks

Best Bet: Tennessee +7

The Volunteers have beaten Alabama 38 times, more than any other program. Tennessee’s problem is all of those wins are ancient history. The Volunteers have lost to Alabama 15 straight years, including the last seven meetings by double figures. Tennessee may finally be prepared to sting its old rivals.

Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker leads an effective offense. He has thrown for 1432 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. Tennessee also has two running backs with over 300 yards that average 4.7 yards per carry. Alabama looked human last week against Texas A&M. Having to survive a goal to go play in the final seconds to beat the Aggies.

Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young was forced to sit out, but is expected to return this week. Alabama’s defense, as always, is excellent again this season.

NCAA Football Odds

NC State Wolfpack vs. Syracuse Orange

NC State vs. Syracuse Picks

Best Bet: NC State +4.5

The Orange are coming off a bye week. They are 5-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Syracuse hasn’t been playing strong football during its last few games against Power 5 opponents, though. The Orange escaped with a three-point win over Purdue and a two-point victory over Virginia.

Orange quarterback Garrett Shrader has been consistent as well, passing for 1224 yards and 10 touchdowns. Syracuse has struggled to stay relevant since the turn of the century. This is a game for them to prove they are legit. Hosting N.C. State, which had hoped to win the division before a loss to Clemson two weeks ago, provides an opportunity for them to show how good the Orange can be.

N.C. State, however, also has a strong quarterback in Devin Leary. The Wolfpack will keep this game close and may be able to spring an upset.

Arkansas Razorbacks vs. BYU Cougars

Arkansas vs. BYU Picks

Best Bet: BYU -3

The Cougars playing an independent schedule allows them an opportunity to take on tough opponents week in and week out. BYU scored an upset win over Baylor, but took tough losses to Oregon and Notre Dame. Cougars quarterback Jaren Hall has been effective all season. Passing for 1558 yards and throwing for 14 touchdowns compared to only two interceptions.

Arkansas has been a mess since K.J. Jefferson got hurt. Jefferson didn’t play in the Razorbacks blowout loss to Mississippi State and was largely ineffective against Texas A&M as well. This is a good spot for BYU to bounce back following a tough loss to Notre Dame.

NCAA Football Predictions

Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Kentucky Wildcats

Mississippi State vs. Kentucky Picks

Best Bet: Mississippi State -6.5

The Bulldogs blasted Arkansas last week and know what they are with quarterback Will Rogers and their air raid offense. Kentucky looked lost without Will Levis under center last week. The wheels may be coming off on the Wildcats underdog chances of challenging for the SEC East crown.
