Dave’s Top 10 Best Bets for NFL Week 9

Things are rolling along at the halfway point of the season. Heading into Week 9, I am coming off a 7-3 record with my Top 10 plays for Scores&Stats after a disastrous showing the week before.

Hopefully, I can post back-to-back winning records with this Sunday’s Top 10 picks in the NFL.

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts Picks: Baltimore -3

I went against the Ravens last week against Pittsburgh and it paid off. This is still one of the stronger teams in the AFC against an Indianapolis Colts team I am still not sold on. Baltimore is a perfect 9-0 straight-up in its last nine road games.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Picks: Minnesota -4

The Lions looked absolutely awful in a lopsided loss to the Colts last Sunday. Minnesota finally played to expectations in a stunning upset over Green Bay. The Vikings have covered against the spread in their last five games against Detroit.

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Picks: UNDER 51½

In an AFC South tilt between a pair of 1-6 teams, one of the two can double their win total on Sunday barring a tie. This matchup sets the stage for a play on the UNDER. The total has stayed UNDER in the last five games between these two rivals.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins: New York +3

The Giants have forgotten how to win games at 1-7 SU but they still know how to keep them close at 5-3 ATS. They are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games. It is hard to trust Washington as a favorite against any other team.

Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans Picks: UNDER 46½

Each of these teams have struggled with consistency all season long. The Bears’ offense has not looked good the past two weeks with the total staying UNDER in four of their last five games. Tennessee’s offense has also struggled lately.

Carolina Panthers at Kansas City Chiefs Picks: Chiefs -10½

This is a tough spot for Carolina to stop a SU three-game skid. The Chiefs should continue to roll after scoring 30 points or more in three of their last four games. The Panthers’ defense does not have an answer for Patrick Mahomes playing at his best.

Seattle Seahawks at Buffalo Bills Picks: Seattle -2½

Seattle is a very good 6-1 team going up against a very suspect Bills’ team at 6-2. The Seahawks continue to score points in bunches with an average of 34.3 points a game. This spells trouble for Buffalo’s inconsistent defense.

Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers Picks: OVER 53

The total has gone OVER in six of the Raiders’ last seven games. I am going to heavily discount last week’s 16-point effort in a win at Cleveland. The Chargers are another team that has forgotten how to win, but this offense can still score points.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Dallas Cowboys Picks: Pittsburgh -9½

Even with a letdown after last Sunday’s big road win against Baltimore, the Steelers should be able to win this game by 10 points or more. Dallas is on the verge of throwing in the towel after last Sunday night’s embarrassing spectacle in Philadelphia.

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Picks: OVER 51½

Given the matchup at hand, you would expect a high-scoring game on Sunday night. These two teams combined for 57 points in Week 1 and the total has gone OVER in five of the last six meetings in this NFC South showdown.
