Money Line: Los Angeles Angels (-126)

The Angels had the best record in baseball during Spring Training in the Cactus League. If this team stays healthy, they are poised for a big year.

The offensive core is one of the best in baseball. Any team with Mike Trout is in great shape.

When you add the offensive power of Anthony Rendon and Shohei Ohtani to the mix, it definitely helps. Ohtani will take the mound against the Astros in game one. Ohtani went 9-2 last season with a 3.18 ERA in 130.1 innings.

He will pitch against Framber Valdez, who is solid. However, I think Houston’s loss of Carlos Correa is going to hurt them in the opener.

Baseball Odds

Run Line: Atlanta Braves -1.5 (-102)

Everyone made a fuss about the Braves because they lost Freddie Freeman. Freeman was a former MVP, and this would hurt any team.

However, this front office deserves a lot of credit. I think the 2022 team is better than the World Series club.

Max Fried will pitch for the Braves, and I am expecting a big year. Travis d’Arnaud will catch, and Matt Olson will play first.

These are two big power bats. They also have Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna.

The sky’s the limit for the Braves. I expect them to beat up the Reds in the season opener.

Total: Mets vs Nationals Over 9 (-122)

Mets vs. Nationals Prediction

If Jacob deGrom was taking the mound, I would go under on the total. However, Tylor Megill will pitch for the Mets, and he will allow runs. Megill had an ERA of 4.52 last season with a 4-6 record in 89.2 innings.

The Nationals do not have the most potent offense in the game. Although, they do have Juan Soto and other role hitters.

The Mets will need to carry this total. They have a great shot of making this happen against Patrick Corbin.

The players to watch for the Mets are Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso.

Parlay: Cardinals ML / Brewers ML

Brewers vs. Cubs Prediction

The Cardinals should roll to victory over the Pirates. JT Brubaker will pitch for Pittsburgh. He had a 5.36 ERA last season and is projected for a 4.87 in 2021-22.

The Cardinals lineup will likely have a field day with Brubaker. I like Nolan Arenado to have a big day swinging the lumber.

The Brewers need an offensive bounce back this season. They should find it on Thursday against the Cubs.

Corbin Burnes will pitch against an atrocious Chicago offense. If Milwaukee hits, they will be just fine. The combined odds of the parlay are +123.
