Week 6 of the 2023 Major League Soccer (MLS) season gets underway this weekend. If you’re looking for the best MLS picks for Week 6, you have certainly come to the right place! Read on to discover my recommended wagers.
FC Cincinnati vs. Inter Miami Picks
Best Bet: FC Cincinnati to Win (-150)
Only four of Major League Soccer’s 29 teams remain unbeaten in 2023, and FC Cincinnati belongs in that exclusive group. Having recorded three wins and two draws this season, Pat Noonan’s men find themselves second in the Eastern Conference – one point behind New England.
On the flip side, Inter Miami occupies ninth place after suffering three defeats in five outings. The Herons lost 2-0 to Toronto FC before suffering a 3-2 defeat to Chicago Fire last weekend, so I’m backing Cincinnati to claim all three points on home soil.
Atlanta United vs. New York Red Bulls Picks
Best Bet: Over 2.5 Goals (-118)
Atlanta United’s games are averaging a whopping 4.2 goals this season, with four of their five clashes producing over 2.5 goals. The Five Stripes have scored an impressive 12 goals this year, but they have also conceded nine, highlighting their inconsistency.
With that in mind, I’m confident that Atlanta and the New York Red Bulls will combine for over 2.5 goals when they face off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this weekend. The hosts are bound to find the back of the net, but they are also likely to give up plenty of chances to the visitors.
St. Louis City SC vs. Minnesota United Picks
Best Bet: St. Louis City SC to Win (-125)
Can anyone stop St. Louis City SC? As we head into Week 6, Bradley Carnell’s boys are the only team with a 100% record. The MLS debutants have won each of their five matches this season, scoring 15 goals while conceding four in the process.
After defeating the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0, St. Louis City thrashed Real Salt Lake 4-0 last time out. The newcomers are on a seemingly unstoppable winning run at the moment, so I recommend backing them to continue their hot streak against Minnesota United.
Colorado Rapids vs. Los Angeles FC
Best Bet: Los Angeles FC to Win (+105)
The Colorado Rapids find themselves rock bottom of the Western Conference, having taken just two points from a possible 15 this year. The Rapids are one of only four teams without a victory in 2023, and they are not expected to claim their first win of the season this weekend.
Colorado hosts Los Angeles FC on Saturday, and LAFC has yet to taste defeat this year. Having claimed three wins and one draw – conceding just three goals along the way – the defending MLS Cup champions should make light work of the struggling Rapids.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs. CF Montreal
Best Bet: Both Teams to Score (-154)
The Vancouver Whitecaps are the only side in Major League Soccer with a 100% BTTS rate in 2023. Indeed, both teams have scored in each of Vancouver’s five matches this season, underlining the team’s contrasting fortunes at either end of the pitch.
On Saturday, the Whitecaps host Canadian rivals CF Montreal, who claimed a wild 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Union last time out. For that reason, I expect both Vancouver and Montreal to find the back of the net at BC Place.
