The entire MLS is back in action this week with a big slate of games this Saturday. Chicago, Philadelphia, and Columbus remain unbeaten in the Eastern Conference and all three will be in action on Saturday.
LAFC and Minnesota United are the only two remaining unbeaten teams in the West. Both teams will play on Saturday.
Will any of the five go down in Week 6? Here are the top MLS Week 6 predictions and odds.
Chicago vs. FC Dallas
Best Bet: CHICAGO +100
Chicago hasn’t lost a MLS match since November of last year. The Fire hasn’t lost at home this season either and the home team has won the last six matches in this series.
After consecutive draws to start the 2022 season, Chicago has a pair of victories over DC United and Sporting KC. Add a victory over Dallas to the list.
Columbus vs. Nashville
Best Bet: COLUMBUS +100
The Columbus Crew remains tied after a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls last week. The Crew returns home this week to take on Nashville, a team that has struggled after winning its first match of the season against Seattle.
Nashville lost to Real Salt Lake last week and the club has given up goals in nine of its last ten matches. In last week’s draw with New York, Columbus maintained 56 percent possession and had nine shots on goal. That could be the difference on Saturday.
The Crew rank 10th in possession (53.5 percent) so far this season. Nashville is 19th in the same category (47.5 percent). With Columbus at home, back the Crew.
San Jose vs. Austin FC
Best Bet: AUSTIN FC +185
San Jose has been a disappointment so far this MLS season with no wins in four matches. Austin, on the other hand, has been a pleasant surprise.
Austin started the season with two huge wins over Cincinnati and Inter Miami. Granted, Cincinnati is MLS’s worst franchise having won the Wooden Spoon two seasons in a row, but Austin leads the MLS in goals scored this season with 11.
Austin played Seattle, a favorite to win this year’s MLS Cup, to a 1-1 draw on March 20. Austin has only scored one goal in its last two matches, but that will change against an Earthquakes defense that is tied for the most goals allowed in the Western Conference (9).
Orlando vs. LAFC
Best Bet: LAFC +165
LAFC is beginning to show its dominance in the early portion of the MLS schedule. With three wins and a draw, LAFC has the second-best goal differential (+7) in the league.
Orlando has been inconsistent and lost its only home match – 2-1 to Cincinnati – of the season. LAFC is much better than Cincinnati. The Western Conference leaders rank fourth in possession percentage (58.3) and they have won each of their last two matches – Vancouver and Inter Miami – by two goals.
LAFC gets the win despite playing on the road.
