The Best NBA Handicappers Last Week

Last week was a pretty solid week in terms of profit and win rate. Though, the top handicappers only placed a total of 36 wagers, they definitely kept the eye on the prize. 

In total, our top five handicappers ended last week with a 30-36 record, an 83.4% win rate, and $2,369 in total profit. Bit of a bump to the stats from the previous week, where the top five just barely broke $2K and had a 63% win rate.

Our number one NBA capper last week was Mr. Diego Garcia, a new face on the leaderboard. 

In typical NBA handicapper fashion, Garcia focuses almost specifically on spreads with a few totals thrown in. His success was the result of a plodding efficiency, with wagers everyday last week. 

The few losses he did have were interesting, though. On Tuesday the 11th, he lost two spreads.

He bet the Cavaliers at -18 versus the Nets. Normally, this isn’t a big deal, but -18 on the spread is kind of a lot. The Cavaliers are heavy favorites, so I imagine the prices at smaller spreads weren’t great. But it didn’t really matter because he lost the $115 he spent anyways. 

We see the reverse of this issue in his Grizzlies spread, at -3.5. The Grizzlies won, but only by 2 points. These two wagers are outliers among his betting slip. His other spreads stick to more traditional values, at a 5 to 8 range. 

Regardless, Garcia managed to make over $600 in profit, so his methods are sound.

Where We’re Betting This Week

We’re definitely going to watch the Thunder and the Celtics tonight. These two teams have put on great performances this season so far. The Thunder is dominating the Western Conference, 53-12 with a good lead on anyone else in the West. The Celtics are clocking in at a solid second in the East right now, 47-18. I don’t want to say the teams are evenly matched, but they’re certainly going to play competitive ball.

Another pair of teams that are close, the Bucks and the Lakers. We’ve been watching a lot of the Lakers recently, but damn is it entertaining. Betting props on LeBron and Luka is too good to pass up. They play on Thursday at Fiserv Forum. 

And over the weekend, we’ll probably catch a bit of the Cavaliers playing the Magic, just for the heck of it.
