The NBA playoff race is heating up as teams head into their final few games of the regular season. The bottom five teams in the East have already been eliminated from the postseason, but Brooklyn, Charlotte, and Atlanta – in places No. 8 through 10 – all have the same record. All three teams play today.
The results of these final few games will determine how teams are seeded for both the play-in tournament and the NBA playoffs. Who will emerge victorious tonight?

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. New York Knicks
Pick: KNICKS +110
Yes, Julius Randle is out for the Knicks, but Cleveland has fallen apart over the past few weeks. The Cavs have just one win in their last six games and just lost to Atlanta by 24 on Thursday night.
The Knicks are 4-1 SU in their last five games and 6-3 SU in their last nine. They have had a disappointing 2021-22 season after finishing fourth in the East last season. Injuries have killed the second half of the season for the Knicks, but they can make sure the Cavs are the play-in tournament with a win tonight.
Plus, Cleveland has won both games between the two teams this season. Without their leading scorer the Knicks rally at home to beat the sinking Cavs.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks
Pick: HAWKS +113
The Hawks and Nets have the exact same record (40-37) heading into the final few games of the regular season. Both teams are destined for the play-in tournament and are jockeying for positioning.
Atlanta’s Trae Young is hot. He is averaging 30 points and 11 assists over the Hawks last ten games. The Nets are averaging 120 points a game over their last ten.
Brooklyn is coming off a pretty tough loss to Milwaukee losing 120-119 to the Bucks in overtime. Atlanta is 5-1 SU in its last six games and 9-1 SU in its last ten games at home. They have struggled against Brooklyn beating the Nets just twice in the last ten head-to-head meetings, but four straight wins and playing at home will give Atlanta the momentum in needs to upset Brooklyn.
Miami Heat vs. Chicago Bulls
Pick: BULLS +113
Chicago had a great run right after the All-Star break and then kind of fell apart as injuries took Alex Caruso and Lonzo Ball, two of their best defenders, out of the lineup. Caruso is back and the Bulls have won three of their last four games.
Miami at home will be a tough one, especially since the Heat have an extra day of rest and they have beaten the Bulls eight times in the last ten head-to-head meetings. That includes the Heat’s three victories this season.
Chicago would like to avoid the season sweep and they are in position to do. Leading scorer DeMar DeRozan is coming off a 50-point night in a home win against the Clippers two nights ago.
