Fans of offense will see plenty of it, but some of the top defenses – Georgia, for example – will be on the field on Saturday. How will the Bulldogs defense impact their game total?

Read on and find out as we look at the best CFB Week 1 over/under predictions.

Memphis Tigers vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs

Memphis vs. Mississippi State Pick

The Pirate, Mike Leach, leads the Bulldogs against the Tigers on Saturday. He will have QB Will Rogers back for a third year. Rogers completed 73.9 percent of his passes last year for 4,739 yards and 36 touchdowns in Leach’s Air Raid offense.

Memphis returns its quarterback, Seth Hanigan, and the Tigers have been known to put up points. The Tigers averaged 30.1 points per game last season and return six offensive starters.

These are two quick-strike offenses with a lot of talent on the field. They will push this total over.

PICK: OVER 56.5

Oregon Ducks vs. Georgia Bulldogs

Oregon vs. Georgia Pick

It’s one of the big showdowns this weekend. New Oregon head coach Dan Lanning was Georgia’s defensive coordinator last season. He knows how good the Bulldogs are.

Yes, Georgia lost a slew of defenders to the NFL, but head coach Kirby Smart will simply reload like his mentor Nick Saban. The Bulldogs will be just fine on defense.

Eight of Georgia’s last ten games have gone under. Both defenses will be farther along than the offenses. This one goes under.

PICK: UNDER 54

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

Notre Dame vs. Ohio State Pick

With Heisman Trophy favorite C.J. Stroud and Biletnikoff Award favorite Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the field for Ohio State, 59 just seems too low. The over has hit in 13 of Ohio State’s last 19 games. Each of the Buckeyes last four games last season totaled at least 63 points.

The Over is 4-1 in Notre Dame’s last five road games and 7-2 in their last nine against the Big Ten. The Irish defense only has four returning starters and each of Ohio State’s last five season openers have gone over. Don’t forget, this game is being played in the Horseshoe in Columbus.

PICK: OVER 59

NCAAF Predictions

Kent State Golden Flashes vs. Washington Huskies

Kent State vs. Washington Pick

The Golden Flashes play at one of the fastest tempos in college football. They did lose their starting quarterback, but head coach Sean Lewis will continue to do what they do. Kent State averaged 33 points per game and 495 total yards (4th in the nation) last season.

Washington’s offense was awful in 2021, but the Huskies will be improved under new head coach Kalen DeBoer whose Fresno State offense last season averaged 33.4 points per game. Plus, Kent State’s defense is one of the poorer units in the country. That will help push this total over.

PICK: OVER 59.5
