Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season is finally here. Buffalo started it all off with a pretty impressive 31-10 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.
There are a number of great matchups in Week 1, including a couple solid divisional matchups to kick off the new season in grand fashion. One of them makes our list of best NFL team total picks in Week 1.
Packers vs. Vikings Team Totals
As dominant as Green Bay has been the last three seasons – 13 wins in each – the Packers have had trouble with Minnesota. Green Bay is just 5-13 straight in the last 18 against the Vikings. The Packers are also on a 0-3 SU run against the Vikings when playing as the road chalk.
The Vikings have a new head coach and the same offensive weapons that averaged 25 points per game last season. The last four straight meetings have gone Over the total. The last game between the two teams was won by Minnesota by a score of 34-31.
The Vikings will show up and play well against their division rival. Back the Vikings to go Over their team total.
PICK: MINNESOTA OVER 23.5 (-105)
Giants vs. Titans Team Totals
The Giants allowed 24.5 points per game last year and Tennessee has proven it can score. The Titans issue is that WR A.J. Brown is gone. They drafted Arkansas WR Treylon Burks and signed veteran Robert Woods to fill the void.
Regardless, the Titans offense revolves around RB Derrick Henry who will go up against last year’s 25th – ranked rushing defense. That’s enough to allow Tennessee to get in the end zone several times. Take Tennessee Over 24.5.
PICK: TENNESSEE OVER 24.5 (-115)
Raiders vs. Chargers Team Totals
The Raiders travel to L.A. to take on their division rival Chargers in a rematch of last year’s season finale. Las Vegas won and with it a trip to the postseason. The Chargers went home and spent the offseason trying to upgrade the defense. They signed Khalil Mack and added CB J.C. Jackson, though he won’t play today.
Las Vegas signed WR Davante Adams in the offseason and he will reunite with his college quarterback, Derek Carr. Here’s to a replay of last year’s 35-32 season finale. With no one expecting it, the Raiders go over 24.5 points to hit this prop.
PICK: LAS VEGAS OVER 24.5 (+100)
Buccaneers vs. Cowboys Team Totals
Buccaneers vs. Cowboys Preview
For some reason, Tampa Bay doesn’t play well against Dallas and they especially do not do well on Sunday nights. The Bucs are 1-6 ATS in their last seven Sunday night games. The last five of those games have gone Under the total.
The Cowboys defense is supposed to be the strong point of America’s Team this season. They’ve got reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons (13 sacks) and CB Trevon Diggs (11 INTs) back on a defense that led the NFL in takeaways.
Put it all together and you have a recipe for a Bucs Under.
PICK: TAMPA BAY UNDER 26.5 (-105)
