Week 1 of the NFL season is finally here, and it’s time for the real betting action to begin. This is the most popular sport to wager on in the United States, and there is a full schedule of games set to take place during the first weekend.

San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears
Best Bet: Bears +7
A pair of young quarterbacks will take the field in Chicago on Sunday afternoon as the Bears host the San Francisco 49ers. The visitors are a Super Bowl contender in 2022, while Chicago is simply hoping to show signs of progress.
San Francisco is a team loaded with talent, but they are hoping that Trey Lance can be the quarterback of the future. The Bears are in Year 2 with Justin Fields, and this team played well in the preseason.
The 49ers should be on upset alert this weekend in Chicago and taking the seven points, and the Bears is the best bet to make.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals
Best Bet: Bengals -6.5
AFC North rivals collide in Cincinnati in Week 1 as the Bengals host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cincinnati is hoping for another division title while the Steelers are attempting to bounce back.
Mitch Trubisky will start at quarterback for Pittsburgh, and there are some real question marks attached to him. The Bengals are hoping that Joe Burrow picks up where he left off in 2021 and that the defense can continue to improve.
This won’t be a blowout, but the Bengals will win and cover the 6.5-point spread.
Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions
Best Bet: Eagles -4
The Detroit Lions come into 2022 with some real optimism that things are starting to turn around for that franchise. Detroit hosts the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, and it’s going to be a big test for the home team.
The Lions should be able to score some points, but that defense will be a problem. Quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense can score points in a hurry, and that will be the case in this game.
Take the Eagles -4.0 as they roll to a big win.
Baltimore Ravens at New York Jets
Best Bet: Ravens -7
There is some hope that the New York Jets are starting to turn things around. New York faces a tough challenge at home in Week 1, though, as the Baltimore Ravens come to town.
Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson is upset with his contract situation, but he will put that in the rearview mirror once the games begin. The Jets have a defense that could struggle, and Jackson and that Ravens offense should have a big day.
Take the Ravens -7.0 as they roll to a big win in Week 1.
Cleveland Browns at Carolina Panthers
Best Bet: Panthers -2.5
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is set to lead the Carolina Panthers up against the team that let him go. Cleveland comes into Week 1 without quarterback Deshaun Watson, and he won’t be suiting up for the first 11 games.
The Browns are the more talented NFL team overall, but facing a fired-up Baker Mayfield is going to make this game interesting. Carolina also has some talented pieces around their new QB, and they will give that Cleveland defense some trouble.
Take the Panthers -2.5 as Mayfield, and the Panthers pick up the win.
