Once Thanksgiving rolls around, the NFL schedule always gets a little more exciting. Starting with a tripleheader on Thursday, the league is set up for a strong weekend of football that is the kick-off toward the final stretch of the regular season. What teams accomplish this weekend can leave a lasting mark on the people observing the game.
Here’s a look at five over/unders worth betting on.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cleveland Browns
Buccaneers vs. Browns Predictions
Best Bet: Under 43.5 Points
The Buccaneers offense has fallen on hard times this season, as Tampa Bay has lost the ability to run the football. When it comes to the running game, Tampa Bay is only averaging 70.7 yards per game, which ranks last in the league. Not having any balance has hurt the team as a whole, as the Buccaneers only score 18.3 points per game, which ranks 27th in the league.
Tampa Bay’s defense limits opponents to 18 points per game. While Cleveland’s running game has allowed the Browns to score at a good clip, this may be a game where the Browns eating up the clock can help keep the score low.
Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans
Bengals vs. Titans Predictions
Best Bet: Under 43 Points
The Bengals had wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase return to practice this week, but it’s unclear if he’ll be able to play Sunday. Cincinnati’s offense could use the return of Chase, as the team tries to make a run at the playoffs down the stretch.
In this rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional game, the Titans will try to control the game with running back Derrick Henry and their defense.
While Cincinnati scored 37 points last week, it was against a woeful Pittsburgh defense. The Titans will do enough to keep the score low.
Chicago Bears at New York Jets
Bears vs. Jets Predictions
Best Bet: Over 41.5 Points
Backing the Jets to put up points a week after New York finished with more punts than Zach Wilson pass completions may seem wild. However, both New York and Chicago are prone to setting up their opponents with good field positions due to mistakes. Seven of the Bears’ 11 games have gone over the total.
Chicago has also struggled straight up on the road, compiling a 1-5 record. Bears quarterback Justin Field will give the ball away, but also lead a few scoring drives that should see both teams score in the 20s.
Atlanta Falcons at Washington Commanders
Falcons vs. Commanders Predictions
Best Bet: Over 42.5 Points
This Falcons defense has been generous with allowing their opponents to generate scoring drives this season. Atlanta ranks 28th in the league in scoring defense, having allowed 24.9 points per game. The Falcons defense overall has really struggled.
Washington has shown some life under backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke.
Las Vegas Raiders at Seattle Seahawks
Raiders vs. Seahawks Predictions
Best Bet: Over 47.5 Points
The Raiders have shown a more consistent ability on offense this season. Las Vegas, however, can’t stop other teams on defense. Seattle quarterback Geno Smith has led a resurgent offense that has been able to ride a balanced group to scoring 25.7 points per game, which ranks fifth in the league.
The Seahawks have struggled on defense, allowing 24.1 points per game, which ranks 22nd.
