NFL Week 13 Teaser Picks and Odds

Coach Rick put together another strong teaser package last week with two wins out of three. Only the lowly Jets failed to come through.

The Jets are part of this week’s teaser package though Coach Rick will not be counting on them for help. Here’s the NFL Week 13 teaser picks.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Minnesota Vikings Week 13 Picks

Spread: Vikings -8.5 / Tease: Vikings -2.5

Mike Zimmer-coached teams in Minnesota have been profitable to bettors. Zimmer’s no-nonsense, risk- averse style of play has produced an overall 66-40-1 record against the spread. The Vikings are just 5-6 so far in 2020, but they have won four of their last five games.

Running back Dalvin Cook is the NFL’s second-leading rusher with 1,130 yards and rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson is quietly becoming a star. Jefferson leads Minnesota with 918 yards receiving and six touchdowns.

The Jags have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Jacksonville ranks 29th in run defense, 29th in pass defense, and 31 st in total defense. The Jags give up 29.5 points a game, which ranks 30th in the league.

Jacksonville’s offense isn’t much better. Veteran Mike Glennon will start his second straight game for the Jags as starter Gardner Minshew is still recovering from a thumb injury. It really won’t matter who is at quarterback for Jacksonville.

Vikings teams under Zimmer excel even more when they are facing a non-division opponent at home as the favorite. In such games, Minnesota is 19-7-1 ATS. Teasing this line to -2.5 makes this a great start to a week 13 teaser.

NFL Week 13 Moneyline and Point Spread Picks

Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets Week 13 Picks

Spread: Raiders -7.5 / Tease: Raiders -1.5

The Raiders have lost two straight and were absolutely smoked last week by Atlanta. Las Vegas did commit five turnovers though. This is a Raiders team that seems destined for the playoffs despite the recent two-game skid.

The perfect remedy for those two straight losses comes on Sunday – the New York Jets. The Jets have lost all eleven of their games. They have lost seven of those games by double digits. Two more have come by eight and nine points. The average margin of victory for Jets’ opponents is 15.5 points.

The Jets are simply awful. They average just 13.8 points a game and rank dead last in the NFL in a number of offensive categories, including passing offense. Starting QB Sam Darnold’s return to the lineup didn’t make a difference last week as the Jets managed a lone field goal in a loss to Miami.

Teasing this game to -1.5 covers all the key numbers, but this game shouldn’t even be close.

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons Week 13 Picks

Spread: Falcons +3 / Tease: Falcons +9

Another potential leg for a Week 13 NFL teaser involves NFC South rivals New Orleans and Atlanta. The two teams met in Week 11. The Falcons led 9-3 early, but failed to score again in a 24-9 loss. That loss is one of just two Atlanta defeats in its last six games.

Since defensive coordinator Raheem Morris assumed the interim head coach role, the Falcons defense has played much better. Atlanta forced five turnovers in a win over the Raiders last week. Since giving up 30 or more points in each of their first four games, Atlanta has held three different opponents to 17 or fewer points.

The real key is that Drew Brees will not be at quarterback for New Orleans. Taysom Hill will start again for the Saints. He has led the team to two straight victories in Brees’ absence. The Saints defense has been strong recently giving up just 28 points combined over the past four games. This is a game the Falcons could win, but at the very least they’ll keep close.
