NFL Week 1 Betting Recap

As mentioned, there are still two Monday Night Football games, but here are the results from the TNF game and all of the games played on Sunday. Several big underdogs won straight-up.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington and Arizona Cardinals all won straight-up on Sunday as big dogs.

Despite that, NFL week 1 favorites went 8-6 ATS. A lot of people were predicting it would take the offenses some time to get rolling due to there being no preseason this year.

However, the over went 9-5 with the two MNF games pending.

The Bills jumped from a FG favorite to –5.5 since the spread was released. After a big win on TNF, the Chiefs spread has gone up two full points. These are the only two games with line movement of 1.5+ points on the spread and they’re both likely going to continue moving throughout the week.

What NFL Week 2 Betting Lines Stand Out?

After watching the Bills in week 1, I expect this line to continue climbing to –6.5 at minimum, so if you want to back the Bills against the Dolphins, jump on the point spread early this week.

That Broncos vs. Steelers line could move a lot depending upon what happens tonight. If the Steelers cover against the Giants and the Broncos lose tonight, the Steelers could jump above a TD.

We don’t know how Big Ben is going to look, but if he’s 100%, the Steelers –6.5 against the Broncos is a line to jump on today. GB at –5.5 looks like a gift and will be –6.5 by Sunday at minimum.

Lastly, the 49ers at –7 looks solid and will likely have a hook added to it soon. I wouldn’t bet SF at more than a TD, but they’ll be hungry to get a win after losing to the Cardinals at home in week 1.
