I’m not sure who is going to score a lot of points in Sunday’s games, although we may have some ideas along those lines. But we are aware of who the reliable people are.
Whether they wind up in the end zone is anybody’s guess, but when we talk about a guy like DeAndre Hopkins in a game that might have a “name the score”quality to it, that might not be a bad place to put our money.
Jonathan Taylor Props Picks for Week 7
Opponent: San Francisco 49ers
Time: Sunday, October 24 – 8:20 PM ET
TD-Scoring Odds: -115 to be “Anytime” scorer
Maybe you can say it’s a nice stroke of strategy for Frank Reich to give it to his star back to offer Carson Wentz all the protection he can possibly get. Indeed, Taylor, in his second year out of Wisconsin, had just 171 rushing yards in his first three games. Over the last three, he’s had two occasions when he passed the century mark, and in the one he didn’t, he had 116 receiving yards. All told, five touchdowns in the last three weeks. And if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
O.J. Howard Props Picks for Week 8
Bears vs. Buccaneers Predictions
Opponent: Chicago Bears
Time: Sunday, October 24 – 4:05 PM ET
TD-Scoring Odds: +160 to be “Anytime” scorer
Rob Gronkowski had four touchdown catches in his first two games. So obviously Tom Brady doesn’t mind going to the tight end in red zone situations.
Now, we admit that if you’re looking for a tight end, Cameron Brate is about as good an option as OJ Howard. But we do know that, to use a cliche, Howard has a nose for the end zone. He has made 115 catches in his injury-plagued NFL career, and 15 of them have gone for TD’s. And he can dial long distance as well, as evidenced by a 75-yard TD grab in his second year as a Buc.
Jaylen Waddle Props Picks for Week 7
Falcons vs. Dolphins Predictions
Opponent: Atlanta Falcons
Time: Sunday, October 24 – 1 PM ET
TD-Scoring Odds: +175 to be “Anytime” scorer
Okay, this is what I’m thinking: Tua Tagovailoa is trying to bring his Dolphins back from what has to be their most disappointing defeat in many years. The rumors of a trade involving DeShaun Watson have been on again and off again since before training camp, and they are on again, with the latest scenario being that he will wind up with the Washington Football Team.
There’s really no reason to believe your team has all the faith in the world in you, so you have to silence the doubters if you can. And for that to happen, it’s best to find reliable outlets; people you can trust.
For Tua, such a guy is Waddle, his teammate at Alabama, who had two touchdowns against the Jaguars in London and can be found either short or long.
DeAndre Hopkins Props Picks for Week 7
Texans vs. Cardinals Predictions
Opponent: Houston Texans
Time: Sunday, October 24 – 4:25 PM ET
TD-Scoring Odds: -125 to be “Anytime” scorer
No, these aren’t tremendous odds, but there may be extraneous circumstances here. Hopkins was at one time a happy member of the Texans, establishing himself as one of the more productive wide receivers in the game. And then he was looking for a better contract.
And then he was sent packing.
And then the Houston fans got irate.
And that may have begun the downward spiral of the franchise.
Undoubtedly Hopkins would like to do something special here. And his quarterback, Kyler Murray, knows it. And he has been productive, from a scoring standpoint; he’s caught 26 passes, and six of them have gone for touchdowns.
Zach Ertz Props Picks for Week 7
Opponent: Houston Texans
Time: Sunday, October 24 – 4:25 PM ET
TD-Scoring Odds: +240 to be “Anytime” scorer
Do we have room for a “bonus” pick? Ertz is no stranger to the end zone, having scored 38 TD’s in his career. He comes to Arizona in the wake of an injury to tight end Maxx Williams. Philadelphia let him go in exchange for a rookie corner and a fifth-round pick. And he’s been practicing for almost the last two weeks. The Houston defensive staff doesn’t have game film of him in this offense. Would there be any better way to indoctrinate him than to give him a chance to score?
