NFL Week 7 Teaser Picks – Best Games to Tease

Coach Rick was two Philadelphia Eagles fourth quarter touchdowns from going 2-1 on last week’s teaser picks. Instead, it was a “kiss your sister” 1-1-1 mark for the week, so the teaser bet lost.

Onto the NFL week 7 schedule and some very interesting matchups that could make some great teaser material. Here are Coach Rick’s best Week 7 NFL games to tease.

Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals Week 7 Picks

Spread: Cardinals +3.5 / Tease: Cardinals +9.5

The Cardinals-Seahawks matchup becomes more intriguing now that Arizona is 4-2. Now, betting against Russell Wilson is not something Coach Rick likes to do. Remember, he is 72-54-7 ATS for his entire regular season career.

But, if we can tease this spread up to +9.5, Coach Rick is in on the Cardinals. Here’s why. Under Pete Carroll, the Seahawks are the team to back as underdogs (36-22-3), at home (46-34-3), or when playing outside their division (57-42-6 ATS).

On Sunday, Seattle is none of those. They are favored by 3.5 points on the road facing NFC West foe Arizona. Guess what the Seahawks ATS record under Carroll is when they are divisional road favorites? 5-10-1.

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Week 7 Picks

Spread: Chiefs -8.5 / Tease: Chiefs: -2.5

You can pair the tease on Arizona with this one on Kansas City, an 8.5-point favorite over the Broncos. Yes, Denver won in New England last week and the defense looked solid. The problem for the Broncos is the Patriots offense is nowhere near the caliber of the Chiefs.

Kansas City has beaten Denver is nine straight games and the Andy Reid-coached Chiefs have done extremely well in two distinct situations. In regular season games on the road, Reid’s Chiefs are 37-19-1 ATS. In regular season games within the AFC West, Kansas City is 28-15-1 ATS.

How about road games inside the division? Reid and the Chiefs are 16-5 ATS. That plus the fact that QB Patrick Mahomes is 26-13-2 ATS for his young NFL career makes this a no-brainer. Get in while you can before the line moves.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Los Angeles Chargers Week 7 Picks

Spread: Jaguars +8 / Tease: Jaguars +14

Coach Rick doesn’t really like trusting the Jaguars. They have dropped five straight games since opening the season with a pretty impressive win over Indianapolis.

But, we’re going to stick to the research and tease the Jags up to double digits for a cover. Since 2003, when an East Coast team travels to the West Coast to play an afternoon game, the prevailing thought is that the trip disrupts players’ internal chemistry or biorhythms or something.

With their internal clock and schedule out of whack, East Coast teams struggle on the West Coast. At least that is the thought. The problem is that the numbers do not support that theory.

Since 2003, East Coast teams playing on the West Coast in the afternoon are 107-87-8 ATS. That doesn’t sound like teams struggling.

The Chargers, like the Jags, won their season opener – over the Bengals – and have dropped four straight. The only reason they haven’t matched Jacksonville is that they had a bye last week. That is likely the reason why the Chargers are overvalued here as 8-point favorites.

The kicker is this. Since Anthony Lynn became the Chargers head coach, road underdog opponents are 13-6-1 ATS.

NFL Week 7 Teaser Bet: Cardinals +9.5 / Chiefs -2.5 / Jaguars +14
