We are getting closer to the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and that is when NHL betting really starts to ramp up. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t good betting opportunities in the regular season as well, and Saturday could actually be a good day for betting.
Here are four NHL bets to look at for games taking place on Saturday night. You will notice that four different betting options are used for these picks.
Moneyline: Vegas Golden Knights +150
Avalanche vs. Golden Knights Picks
The biggest game of the night takes place in Las Vegas as the Golden Knights are set to host the Colorado Avalanche. Not only is this a matchup of two of the best teams in the NHL, it will likely be a playoff preview as well.
Colorado is scoring close to four goals per game this season, and that offense just continues to impress. Nathan MacKinnon is out of the lineup, and his absence could give Vegas a chance in this one.
The Golden Knights have plenty of weapons as well, and they won’t be afraid to play right with the Avalanche. Vegas is an underdog in this game, but they are the right pick to make at +150.
Puck Line: Los Angeles Kings -1.5
The Los Angeles Kings host the New York Islanders on Saturday night, and the home team is a pretty solid betting favorite in this game. Los Angeles has been a big surprise this season, and they are taking on an Islanders team that has struggled.
New York is scoring just 2.5 goals per game, and they have had some very low-scoring games throughout the year. The Kings aren’t exactly explosive either, but they have a clear edge on offense in this game.
This will be a solid win for the Kings, and they are winning it by at least two goals.
Over/Under: Lightning at Predators OVER 6.0
The Lightning and Predators will be playing outdoors on Saturday night in the latest edition of the Stadium Series. This is not only a great event for the NHL, but this matchup should be terrific as both teams are playing well.
Both the Lightning and Predators are scoring more than three goals per game, and things tend to get a little crazy with these outdoor games. It’s going to take at least four goals to win this one, and that’s going to push the total to at least seven.
Take the over 6.0 goals for this showdown that will be played in Nashville.
Parlay: Calgary Flames -145 / Ottawa Senators -170
Wild vs. Flames Picks / Canadiens vs. Senators Picks
Betting on individual games is always a great option, but there is also a chance to put together a two-team parlay for Saturday night. Two teams from Canada are playing at home, and both teams look like a solid pick to win that game.
Ottawa hosts the Montreal Canadiens, and it has been a rough year for Montreal. The Senators haven’t been a ton better, but they are going to be good enough to take care of business on their home floor.
Calgary is hosting the Minnesota Wild, and that should actually be one of the better games of the night. Both teams have at least 65 points on the year, and there should be plenty of offense in that game.
