There are five NHL games scheduled for Wednesday night, and all five of the games present a solid betting opportunity. Instead of just focusing on one type of bet, it is best to look at four different betting types when targeting the NHL on Wednesday.
With that in mind, here are four of the best NHL bets to make on Wednesday, February 23:
Moneyline: Montreal Canadiens -110
Sabres vs. Canadiens Predictions
The Montreal Canadiens host the Buffalo Sabres in a battle of two of the worst teams in the NHL. Buffalo has some interesting pieces to build around, but they also have plenty of holes on that roster.
Montreal has been an absolute mess this season, but the Canadiens have won three straight games. You won’t find many opportunities to bet on the Canadiens, but this should be one of them on Wednesday night.
Don’t expect many goals in this game, even as both of these teams really struggle to defend. Montreal will win this game at home and pick up their fourth straight win on the year.
Puck Line: Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5
Oilers vs. Lightning Predictions
The Tampa Bay Lightning host the Edmonton Oilers in a game that could turn into a shootout on Wednesday night. Both offenses have been clicking on all cylinders this season, and that should lead to a terrific battle.
The problem for the Oilers is that they are also giving up over 3.2 goals per game, and that’s going to be a problem against a team like the Lightning. Edmonton loves to win games with offense, but that just won’t get it done in this one.
Tampa Bay just does nearly every single thing well, and they will take control of this game. A late goal will make this spread at least two goals, and taking the Lightning -1.5 is the way to go.
Total: Avalanche at Red Wings OVER 6
Avalanche vs. Red Wings Predictions
Any time that you are looking to make a totals bet in the NHL, there are certain teams to target. The Colorado Avalanche are one of those teams as they always seem to put up goals in a hurry.
Colorado is on the road at Detroit, but the Avalanche offense has been able to score anywhere. This team is scoring close to four goals per game, and that could lead to a big offensive night in this one.
Detroit hasn’t been bad on offense either, and they will chip in with some scoring. This line has felt off since it was announced, and taking the over six goals is the way to go.
Parlay: Dallas Stars -160 / Los Angeles Kings -220
Jets vs. Stars Predictions / Kings vs. Coyotes Predictions
There are two other games that you should be looking at the moneyline as that is really the only good betting opportunity for each. The Dallas Stars host the Winnipeg Jets, and the Los Angeles Kings are on the road in Arizona.
Dallas and Winnipeg has the potential to be one of the best games of the night as each team currently has at least 52 points on the year. The overall statistics are pretty even as well, but having this game in Dallas is a huge boost for the Stars.
The Kings will have some work to do on the road, but they are playing an Arizona team that really struggles. Los Angeles should be a playoff team in the Western Conference, and they will find a way to win on the road.
Take the Stars at -160 and the Kings at -220 to make up a solid two-team parlay.
