Are you looking for the best NHL player props for today’s games? Look no further! I have trawled the bookies’ odds to track down five premium NHL picks for Saturday, April 1st. Feel free to take full advantage of my recommended wagers.
Alex Killorn – Over 0.5 Points (-125)
Islanders vs. Lightnng Prediction
Alex Killorn grabbed a goal and an assist during the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 5-1 victory over the Washington Capitals last time out. Killorn has scored four points across the past three games, helping Tampa Bay cement third place in the Atlantic Division.
The Lightning face a tricky test against the New York Islanders on Saturday, but I’m confident that Killorn will extend his scoring streak at Amalie Arena. That’s why I’m backing him to notch over 0.5 points this weekend.
Matthew Tkachuk – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-160)
Panthers vs. Blue Jackets Prediction
Only eight players have chalked up more shots on goal than Matthew Tkachuk this season. Indeed, the Florida Panthers superstar has accumulated 294 shots on goal across 73 outings, meaning he averages 4.03 SOG per game in 2022-23.
Having recorded 3+ SOG in each of his last six outings – and nine of his previous 10 – he shouldn’t struggle to register over 3.5 SOG against the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets, who find themselves rock bottom of the Metropolitan Division following three successive defeats.
Martin Necas – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-145)
Hurricanes vs. Canadiens Prediction
Despite having lost each of their last three games, the Carolina Hurricanes remain at the summit of the Metropolitan Division. On Saturday, the Hurricanes face the Montreal Canadiens, who occupy last place in the Atlantic Division after suffering six losses in 10 outings.
Carolina’s Martin Necas averages three shots on goal per game this season, and the Czech winger racked up four SOG against the Detroit Red Wings last time out. With that in mind, I expect him to record over 2.5 shots on goal against the struggling Canadiens.
Jack Hughes – Over 1.5 Points (+120)
Devils vs. Blackhawks Prediction
Jack Hughes has been collecting points for fun of late. After bagging three points against the Carolina Hurricanes, the New Jersey Devils star scored three more against the Buffalo Sabres before notching two against the Ottawa Senators last weekend.
While the Devils occupy second place in the Metropolitan Division, the Chicago Blackhawks find themselves rock bottom of the Central Division following a run of seven straight losses. With the Blackhawks up next for the Devils, I can see Hughes enhancing his points tally.
Evander Kane – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+100)
Wild vs. Golden Knights Prediction
Evander Kane racked up a whopping 11 shots on goal against the Vegas Golden Knights earlier this week. Last time out, the Edmonton Oilers winger followed that up by registering five shots on goal against the Los Angeles Kings.
The Oilers have won eight of their last 10 outings, while the Anaheim Ducks have suffered six consecutive defeats. With six places between the teams in the Pacific Division, I’m confident that Kane will extend his SOG hot streak on Saturday.
