We have no fewer than 11 NHL games to get our teeth into on Tuesday, January 3rd. As a result, there are plenty of eye-catching NHL player props to take advantage of.
You will be pleased to learn that I have scoured the NHL odds to find the best bets for Tuesday’s match-ups. Without further ado, here are the top NHL player props picks for Tuesday.
Brayden Point – Over 0.5 Goals (+125)
Lightning vs. Blackhawks Picks
Brayden Point has been scoring goals for fun recently, finding the net five times across the last four games. When you look at the bigger picture, the Tampa Bay Lightning superstar has scored ten goals in his previous ten appearances.
Boasting a three-game winning streak, Tampa Bay will be confident of beating the Chicago Blackhawks, who sit rock bottom of the Central Division after four straight losses. With that in mind, I’m backing Point to extend his scoring streak on Tuesday.
Martin Necas – Over 0.5 Points (-145)
The Carolina Hurricanes head into Tuesday’s game against the New York Rangers on a franchise-record 11-game winning streak. Needless to say, the Canes will be brimming with belief ahead of their trip to Madison Square Garden.
Martin Necas has picked up more points than any other Carolina player this season, collecting 36 points in 37 outings. Having claimed six points across the past five games, Necas looks destined to notch over 0.5 points against the Rangers.
Jason Robertson – Over 0.5 Assists (-160)
Only seven players have chalked up more assists than Jason Robertson in 2022-23. The Dallas Stars winger has recorded nine assists across his previous seven appearances, taking his tally to 29 in 38 this season.
The Stars have won each of their last four games and find themselves atop the Central Division. Since the Los Angeles Kings have lost two of their past four encounters, I’m confident that Robertson will pick up another assist on Tuesday.
Roman Josi – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-165)
Granted, the Nashville Predators have struggled for consistency throughout 2022-23, but they have not been as bad as the Montreal Canadiens. Following five consecutive losses, the Canadiens find themselves rock bottom of the Atlantic division.
I expect Nashville to get the better of Montreal on Tuesday, with Roman Josi playing a starring role. Josi has notched 150 shots on goal this season, meaning he averages 4.29 SOG per game. The upcoming clash against struggling Montreal provides him with the ideal opportunity to enhance his SOG tally.
William Nylander – Over 1.5 Points (+165)
William Nylander claimed two points when the Toronto Maples Leafs thrashed the Colorado Avalanche 6-2 on New Year’s Eve. That means the 26-year-old has registered over 1.5 points in three of his previous five appearances.
It is also worth noting that Nylander racked up five points when Toronto beat the Calgary Flames last month, contributing two goals and three assists. For that reason, I expect him to notch over 1.5 points against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
