Once in a while, a handicapper pulls out an awesome win streak, topping the leaderboard and solidifying their dominance. Last week, we saw Scott’s Picks hit 9 wagers in a row, netting him more than $1,000 and the number one spot on the leaderboard.
Read more about it, and see where our other NHL handicappers went wrong last week:
Top NHL Handicappers Last Week
Last week we saw the usual suspects make the leaderboard. Jimmy Liu went 4-2 but only made $200, while MacGyver, who was the top handicapper in the previous week, went 2-0 for the same profit.
However, all together, the top 5 have earned $2,048. This comes off a 32-14 record, a 69.5% win rate overall.
Scott’s Picks is Back at it Again
Scott’s Picks put on the most impressive show we’ve seen from him so far this season. Last week he topped the leaderboard with a 9-0 hot streak and a total of $1,031 in profit. That’s more than half the total profit made by all the top handicappers last week.
You can tell by his wagers that he had his nose to the grindstone. The fact that his spreads are all within 1.5 points means he’s playing low odds, most of which are on the favorite. For the moneylines, he’s putting up a lot of money to make minimal profit.
Take a look at the Knights vs Blackhawks game, where he bet on -390 odds. To come out with so much profit, you know he was putting up hundreds of dollars for each wager.
Sal Lombardi Struggles To Keep Up
Good ole’ Sal usually comes in somewhere between 5th and 10th place on the leaderboard, but this past week he was 19th with a 20-23 record. Surprisingly, he still managed to make $75!
He lost spreads and totals heavily, but managed to pull out some profit from moneyline wagers. In fairness, he was playing things very risky. Almost all his moneyline wagers were on underdogs, and while they were fairly reasonable odds, it’s still a tough line to walk. Hopefully, he can tone it down a bit next week and find more value in quality over quantity.
Where Our Money’s at This Week
The Sabres were on a bit of a comeback, but were put down by the Sharks last night, which was a brutal loss for them. We’ll be watching to see if their morale is toasted, or if they can edge out a win against the Lightning on Thursday.
Friday we’ll be watching the Jets and the Devils, both teams are doing well this season, so it’ll be a fast-paced game for sure. And then on Saturday, we’ll watch the Blackhawks play the Predators. Those two teams are at the bottom of the Central Division (doing even worse than the Sabres, if you can believe it), and they’ve got to be running on empty. The odds will probably be in the Predator’s favor, but honestly it could be either team’s game.
