Pacers Attempt to Carve Out Game 2 Win

The Indiana Pacers came oh-so close to beating top-seeded Boston in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday night. Is tonight the night for the Pacers? Once again, the Celtics are a heavy favorite. Boston is a 9-point chalk against the Pacers, who have not lost a game at home this playoff season. Indiana would love nothing more than to steal Game 2 tonight and head back to Indy with the series knotted at 1-1

The Pacers held a 117-114 lead with just 10 seconds remaining in Game 1. Andrew Nembhard’s inbounds pass went off the fingertips of Pascal Siakam, giving Boston the ball. The Celtics took advantage and Jaylen Brown, who scored 26 points, hit the game-tying three-pointer that sent the Pacers and Celtics to overtime.

Pacers G Andrew Nembhard committed a costly turnover at the end of regulation in Game 1.

In the overtime, the Pacers committed a few more costly turnovers and lost 133-128. For the game, the Pacers committed 21 turnovers and those led to several Celtics points. If Indiana is able to clean up its game tonight, it’s possible the Pacers could pull the upset. At the very least, the Pacers could cover the 9-point spread. The Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games and 4-1 ATS in their last five against Boston.

Wins & Losses – What’s Trending

If you’re the Dallas Mavericks, you’re feeling good today. If you’re the Indiana Fever…not so much. Rafael Nadal probably isn’t all that giddy and J.B. Bickerstaff…well, he’s nowhere near good today.

Let’s see what’s trending in the sports world.

  • Clark, Fever lose again: The Indiana Fever lost to Seattle last night 85-83 to drop to 0-5 on the season. Caitlin Clark had 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assist last night in what was her best game of the season. The Fever play tomorrow night in Los Angeles.
  • Mavs win: Kyrie Irving hit early and Luka Doncic came in late to help the Dallas Mavericks beat Minnesota 108-105 in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Game 2 is tomorrow night in Minnesota.
  • Nadal’s final run: This will be Rafael Nadal’s last French Open. He’s won the event 14 times, more than anyone else. To win it this year, he’ll have to get past No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev in Round 1. Yikes!
  • You’re fired!: J.B. Bickerstaff is no longer the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Amid the Cavs’ exit from the playoffs, Bickerstaff was let go after five seasons with the franchise.
