2022 Premier League Boxing Day Picks
Brentford vs. Tottenham Hotspur – Best Bet: Draw (+260)
No team has recorded more Premier League draws than Brentford this season. Indeed, the Bees have drawn seven of their 15 league games – with three ties coming in their past five outings.
Thomas Frank’s men host Tottenham on Boxing Day. Although Spurs find themselves ten points clear of Brentford in the table, the Bees will be confident of avoiding defeat on home soil.
Let’s not forget that Tottenham suffered three losses in five league games before the World Cup. Antonio Conte’s side struggled for consistency in the lead-up to the break, so I can see this game ending in a draw.
Leicester City vs. Newcastle United – Best Bet: Newcastle United (+115)
To say that Newcastle started the 2022-23 campaign strongly would be a massive understatement. As they return from the break, the Magpies sit third – 13 points clear of thirteenth-place Leicester.
Eddie Howe’s men have lost just one of their 15 league encounters this season and head to Leicester on a ten-game unbeaten streak. Not only have they won each of their last five league games, but they have also won seven of their previous eight.
As for the Foxes, they have lost eight of their 15 Premier League clashes this season. They have also conceded a whopping 25 goals, meaning high-flying Newcastle shouldn’t struggled to claim all three points on Monday.
Arsenal vs. West Ham United – Best Bet: Arsenal (-200)
Having claimed 12 wins in 14 games, Arsenal sits five points clear at the summit of the Premier League table. Better still, the Gunners boast the joint-best defensive record in the division.
Although Gabriel Jesus is set for a spell on the sidelines due to injury, Arsenal has more than enough firepower to beat West Ham – with Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli waiting in the wings.
The Hammers have only managed to win four of their 15 league games this season, suffering nine defeats in the process. Things could get ugly for David Moyes’ side at the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day.
