Super Bowl LVI is all set for Sunday, February 13, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The underdog Cincinnati Bengals will take on the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams.
The Bengals are still looking for their first-ever Super Bowl victory. They have failed in two earlier attempts. The Rams have won one Super Bowl in four tries. They are favored over Cincinnati, which opened the season at 125-1 to reach this year’s Super Bowl.
Like past Super Bowls, this one will likely represent the most-bet on sporting event in the US this year. Upwards of $5 billion was bet worldwide on last year’s game.
Here’s a look at the best Super Bowl LVI moneyline and ATS picks.
Who Will Win the 2022 NFL Super Bowl?
As mentioned, the Bengals have never won a Super Bowl. Over the past few seasons, they haven’t won much of anything. They did win, however, in the draft the last few years when they selected QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase.
The two were former teammates on LSU’s national championship team and have been wreaking havoc on NFL defenses this season. The Bengals are 6-1 in their last seven games and 6-0 with Burrow at quarterback. He didn’t play in the regular season finale loss to Cleveland.
The Rams Matthew Stafford has been the big difference in LA getting to the Super Bowl this year. The Rams were good with Jared Goff, but now they are outstanding with an elite quarterback under center. Stafford has completed 72 percent of his throws this postseason, has 905 passing yards, and has thrown two touchdown passes in each of the Rams three playoff games.
The Rams have one of the league’s best defenses led by former three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald. Los Angeles just might be too much for the Bengals to handle.
Best Moneyline Pick: RAMS -190
2022 NFL Super Bowl Point Spread Prediction
The Bengals have proven time and again that they can hang with elite teams. They upset AFC No. 1 seed Tennessee in the divisional round and beat Kansas City in the AFC title game. It was Cincy’s second win over the Chiefs in the month of January.
Then, there is the Burrow factor. Burrow is 3-0 SU and 3-0 ATS this postseason. If you go back to his college days, Burrow is 7-0 ATS in postseason games. This season, Cincy went 7-0 ATS when they were underdogs of at least three points. The Bengals actually won six of those games outright with Burrow at quarterback. In his career thus far, Burrow is 11-2 ATS when the Bengals are an underdog of at least three points.
The Rams, for some reason, have struggled to cover against AFC teams this season. In its last six games against teams from the AFC this year, Los Angeles went 1-5 ATS.
Cincinnati’s defense doesn’t get the credit it deserves either. The Bengals shut down the Raiders, Titans, and then held the Chiefs to a second half field goal in the AFC title game. Cincy can keep this close. The last two AFC teams that were underdogs in the Super Bowl won outright (Denver 2016, Baltimore 2013).
Best ATS Pick: BENGALS +4.5
