Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Seahawks vs. Steelers Prediction
The Steelers defense is outstanding and this week they will not have to play against Russell Wilson. Instead, they will harass Geno Smith all game long. What really will give Smith trouble is the lack of a Seattle running game.
Seahawks running back Chris Carson has a recurring neck injury and his status this week is unknown. Last week, Seattle averaged just 3.7 yards per rush. That won’t cut it against a Pittsburgh defense that is at full strength.
The Steelers offense finally broke out of its shell somewhat last week. RB Najee Harris had 122 yards and Ben Roethlisberger passed for 253 yards and two scores.
With Smith at center, this is going to be a long night for Seattle.
Best ATS Pick: STEELERS -3.5
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Baltimore Ravens
Chargers vs. Ravens Prediction
Both the Chargers and Ravens played close games last week. LA won 47-42 over Cleveland and Baltimore went to overtime to beat Indianapolis 31-25. The Ravens played Monday night and will have a slight rest disadvantage. Since 2019, they are 10-2 SU in games where they had a rest disadvantage.
The Ravens are also at home where they are 14-5 since 2019. That is the second-best home record in the NFL. Despite all that, the Chargers have tremendous value as the underdog.
QB Justin Herbert keeps LA in games and the Chargers are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games. Their only loss – and ATS loss – in those nine games was their 20-17 defeat at Dallas as a 3-point favorite. The Chargers can keep this one close too.
Best ATS Pick: CHARGERS +3
New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys
Patriots vs. Cowboys Prediction
Dallas has the best offense in the NFL. The Cowboys will go up against Bill Belichick and the Patriots defense on Sunday. The Pats are playing at home as the underdog. New England has yet to win a game at Gillette Stadium losing all three it has played so far this season.
Two of the Pats home losses were by two points or less and New England has never lost its first four home games in any season under Belichick. They have also been very dangerous when playing as a home underdog. The Patriots have covered the spread in 13 of the last 15 times they have been in this situation.
Still, the Cowboys put up points by the bunches and the defense continues to create turnovers. Dallas is 5-0 ATS this season and there is a reason this line moved from -1 to -4.
Best ATS Pick: COWBOYS -4
Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans
For a second consecutive week, the Buffalo Bills get to avenge a loss from last season. Tennessee beat Buffalo handily last year 42-16. Last week, the Bills took care of Kansas City, a team that had beaten Buffalo twice last season.
The Bills enter next Monday’s game as a 5-point favorite. The Titans defense is once again suspect and the Bills have the kind of defense that can contain the Titans Derrick Henry and Tennessee’s passing game.
The Titans are just 2-4 ATS in their last six home games and Buffalo is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
Best ATS Pick: BILLS -5
Minnesota Vikings vs. Carolina Panthers
Vikings vs. Panthers Prediction
The big difference in this game is simply Christian McCaffrey. He was a game-time decision last week and didn’t play. With more practice reps this week, he’s likely to play and that will make a world of difference. McCaffrey makes everyone better, including QB Sam Darnold who had three interceptions last week against Philadelphia.
Minnesota just finished a three-game home stand going 2-1 in the process. They have underachieved almost losing to 0-5 Detroit if not for a last-second field goal.
Best ATS Pick: PANTHERS -1.5
