There is a loaded slate of NHL games on Thursday night, and that presents some great betting opportunities. Not only will you find some good games to bet on, but there will also be plenty of solid player prop bets available.
There are some big odds available for some lesser-known players in each game, but focusing on the top players is usually the way to go. Here are five of the best NHL player prop bets to make for Thursday, April 21.
Brad Marchand: Over 0.5 Assists (+126)
The Boston Bruins will be in Pittsburgh on Thursday night to take on the Penguins. There are plenty of stars in this game, and it’s always one of the best rivalries in the league.
Brad Marchand continues to be a leader for the Bruins on offense, and he has a long history of playing well against the Penguins, and he is talented enough to score on anyone. There are some great player prop betting opportunities in this game but focus on Marchand.
The veteran will have an assist in this game, and taking the over 0.5 assists is the way to go.
Sebastian Aho: Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-136)
Sebastian Aho has been on an absolute tear this season for the Hurricanes, and Carolina just continues to score goals. The over/under for total shots for Aho is set at just 2.5, and that seems really low.
Carolina is playing a Winnipeg team that will play fast also, and that will provide plenty of chances on offense. Aho will get at least three shots on goal this year.
Jonathan Huberdeau: Over 0.5 Goals (+164)
The Florida Panthers are looking for their 12th straight win on Thursday when they host the Detroit Red Wings. Florida is scoring 4.2 goals per game this season, and they just completely overwhelm most of their opponents.
Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers with 81 assists and 111 total points, but he has been a great goal-scorer as well. If the Panthers are going to score four goals again, you can expect Huberdeau to light the lamp at least once.
Bet on Huberdeau to score a goal at +164 on Thursday night.
Joe Pavelski: Under 0.5 Points (+104)
You don’t always have to bet the over when it comes to player props, and there is a great option in the game set to take place in Calgary. The Dallas Stars will be in town, and Joe Pavelski has been their best offensive player all season.
Dallas is going to struggle to find offense on Thursday night, and getting a single goal will be a challenge. Look for the Flames to shut down Pavelski and the Stars, giving you a good betting option.
Take the under 0.5 points (+104) as Pavelski gets shut out on Thursday night.
Artemi Panarin: Over 2.5 Shots on Goals (+108)
The New York Rangers take on the New York Islanders in the latest version of this terrific rivalry. All of a sudden, the Rangers are scoring goals like crazy, and they are taking on a struggling Islanders team.
Artemi Panarin is one of the best players in the NHL this season, but he is usually doing his best work when dishing out the puck. Panarin has 70 assists on the year, but he is always aggressive.
Look for Panarin to get some pucks on net in this game, and taking over 2.5 shots is the way to go.
