Five underdogs picked up wins last week. The biggest was the Texans upset of the Titans as a 10-point underdog.
So far this week, only the Raiders, a 7-point underdog at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day, have pulled an upset. What other underdogs can take care of business this week?
Here are the top three NFL Week 12 moneyline underdog picks.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals beat the Steelers 24-10 in Week 3. This is not the same Pittsburgh team right now. The Steelers are 5-1-1 in their last seven games.
The defense has been very good when healthy. Minkah Fitzpatrick is back after missing last week due to COVID. T.J. Watt is listed as questionable and if he plays, Cincy QB Joe Burrow is going to have a tough go of it.
Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger is 24-9 SU against Cincy in his career and he’s 12-4 ATS against the Bengals in Cincinnati.
The Steelers are outstanding as underdogs under head coach Mike Tomlin. They are 42-20-2 ATS as an underdog including 4-1 ATS this season. More importantly, they won three of those games outright. They’ll do it again on Sunday.
Best Moneyline Pick: STEELERS +170
Los Angeles Rams vs. Green Bay Packers
This is an interesting situation for both the Rams and Packers on Sunday. Both teams are in a position to win their respective division, but both teams have struggled recently.
The Rams (7-3) have lost two straight as the high-powered offense has taken a break from punishing opposing defenses. LA scored 16 in a loss to Tennessee and just 10 points in a loss to the 49ers in their last game.
Green Bay (8-3) has lost two of its last three games. The Packers dropped a 13-7 decision to the Chiefs on Nov. 7 in a game they played without QB Aaron Rodgers who missed the game due to a positive COVID diagnosis. The Packers rebounded the following week with Rodgers in the lineup, but the offense managed just 17 points in a win over Seattle.
Last week, Green Bay lost to Minnesota 34-31 on a last-second field goal. Neither team can really afford another loss. The Packers did lose OT Elgton Jenkins for the season last week. With David Bakhtiari not back yet from his knee injury, that could spell trouble for Green Bay.
Stafford has played well against Rodgers throughout his career. He also has done well in the week following a bye. The weather could be a concern for the Rams, but this is the perfect opportunity to catch Green Bay.
Best Moneyline Pick: RAMS +103
Minnesota Vikings vs. San Francisco 49ers
These two teams have been red-hot lately and would like to continue their respective streaks in an effort to stay alive in the NFC wild card race.
The Vikings, as mentioned, pulled off the upset against Green Bay last week. This week, they are an underdog once again playing on the road in San Francisco.
Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan does not do well as a favorite. He’s only 10-22-1 ATS and just 1-4 ATS at home this season. Underdog moneylines against Shanahan also have a favorable return over the past two seasons.
The Vikings passing game has been outstanding the past two weeks. The Niners pass defense has been at its worst over the past five weeks of the season. That’s where Minnesota gets the edge.
