What Does DND Mean in Betting?

DND in sports betting stands for Draw No Bet. Draw No Bet is a type of sports bet that is exactly what it sounds like.

Soccer Betting Sites

The Draw No Bet wager is popular in soccer betting where matches do end in a draw from time to time. The DND bet takes the Draw off the table.

If a match ends in a draw, there is no bet. The bettor’s stake is refunded.

DND & Soccer

As mentioned, DNB is popular in soccer where draws are more common. In the English Premier League for example, roughly 25 percent of all matches end in a draw.

In three-way soccer betting markets, wins are tougher to come by since the draw is an option. Smarter bettors are opting for the two-way Draw No Bet market.

Bettors wager on the home team to win or the away to win. The odds in the Draw No Bet market are a bit lower than the three-way market, but risk averse bettors like having the option to eliminate the tie.

Draw No Bet Example

The typical three-way soccer bet would appear as follows.

Team A +150

Team B +180

Draw +225

Bettors that like Team A can win $150 on a $100 bet if Team A is victorious. The issue for bettors is that there are two other outcomes.

Team A could play well but the match results in a tie. In a three-way bet, the wager on Team would lose. The Draw No Bet option eliminates that third outcome.

Team A -105

Team B +135

In this case, bettors that still like Team A don’t get as favorable odds at -105. However, should the two teams tie, a bettor’s stake would be returned instead of lost in the three-way bet.

What Is Double Chance in Soccer Betting?

Sportsbook Doesn’t Offer DND

Bettors may find that their sportsbook doesn’t offer Draw No Bet as an option when looking to bet on a soccer match.

If this is the case, bettors can actually create their own Draw No Bet option by placing the wager a different way.

This can be done by making the bet with an Asian handicap of + or – 0. Asian handicap bets will return your stake if the result is a draw. This is essentially the equivalent of betting in the Draw No Bet market.

The Draw No Bet market offers an advantage though as bettors can calculate their own odds and compare sportsbooks or betting exchanges. Bettors can find more value in a certain Draw No Bet, which is something the level Asian handicap cannot provide.
