Bulls, After Historic Beatdown, Get Shot at Redemption vs. Pistons
The Chicago Bulls will look to bounce back in a major way when they host the Detroit Pistons for the second time in as many nights on Wednesday.
Can the Bulls Recover From an Embarrassing Loss?
Chicago (26-29) suffered a humiliating 132-92 loss to Detroit on Tuesday, marking its fourth straight defeat. The Bulls trailed by 42 points at halftime—tying the largest halftime deficit in franchise history—while also allowing the Pistons to set their largest-ever halftime lead.

“Embarrassing,” Bulls coach Billy Donovan said of the effort.
Chicago shot just 35.0% from the field and an abysmal 21.3% (10-for-47) from three-point range. Rookie Matas Buzelis led the team with 12 points, while Josh Giddey added 11.
“We’ll be ready to go from the jump (Wednesday),” Giddey said.
Lonzo Ball, who sat out Tuesday due to illness and left knee management, is expected to return for the rematch.
Will the Pistons Keep Rolling?
Detroit (11-44) enters Wednesday’s game riding a three-game winning streak, including back-to-back victories over the Bulls and Kings. Malik Beasley and Cade Cunningham led the way Tuesday, scoring 24 and 20 points, respectively.
Beasley was lights out from deep, going 7-for-10 from three-point range. His final triple set a single-season franchise record with 212 made three-pointers in just 54 games.
“It’s amazing,” Pistons rookie Ausar Thompson said. “To see how much he works, he’s in the gym first every day getting shots up.”
Detroit dominated inside, scoring 60 points in the paint after putting up 80 in its previous win over Chicago on Feb. 2. Jalen Duren grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and has now recorded double-digit rebounds in eight straight games against the Bulls.
Season Series at Stake
The Pistons have already secured at least a split of the four-game season series, but they can win it outright with another victory. The Bulls had either won or split their season series with Detroit in each of the past five seasons, a streak now in jeopardy.
