Knicks, Pacers Look to Rebound from Tough Losses
Both the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers are coming off frustrating losses and are eager to turn things around when they meet on Tuesday night in Indianapolis.
New York took a 131-104 beating at home against the Boston Celtics, while Indiana never recovered from a slow start in a 124-117 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Knicks Searching for Consistency
The Knicks entered their matchup with Boston hoping to measure themselves against the East’s top team, but the Celtics dominated from start to finish. Boston shot 54.1% from the field and drained 19 three-pointers on 48.7% shooting.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do. Simple as that. There’s no sugarcoating it,” Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns said. “If we’ve got aspirations, which I know we do, then we’ve got to find ways to win games like that.”
Jalen Brunson led New York with 36 points, but Towns struggled, scoring just nine points on 3-for-8 shooting—his lowest output this season.
Adding to their struggles, the Knicks were without OG Anunoby, who is expected to miss his fourth straight game with a sprained right foot.
Despite the loss, the Knicks have been solid, winning seven of their last nine games. However, they’ve struggled against the NBA’s top teams, something Brunson knows they must fix.
