“We came out aggressive on both ends of the floor and that’s what we want,” Morant said. “We want to get stops and run. We’re even better when everybody is aggressive and gets downhill.”

The win ensured that Memphis will hold onto second place in the Western Conference heading into the break. The Grizzlies will now look to snap a four-game losing streak against the Clippers, a team that has given them trouble in recent seasons.

Los Angeles (33-20) is still figuring out its identity, especially as Kawhi Leonard works his way back into top form. Leonard, who missed the first 34 games of the season due to knee soreness, has increased his minutes in recent outings but managed just 10 points in the Clippers’ 130-110 win over Utah on Saturday.

“(It) just was going fast, and we’ve played some fast teams,” Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said. “They’re coming to double-team (Leonard), they’re shrinking the floor, so just taking a look at our spacing and seeing when we could attack and be more efficient.”

James Harden dished out 17 assists in the win, and the Clippers are expected to debut trade deadline acquisition Bogdan Bogdanovic, who arrived from Atlanta. The team also recently signed Ben Simmons.

“It’s future Hall of Famers, one of the best (teams) in the league, and I’m just excited to have the opportunity to play with them,” Bogdanovic said.

The Clippers won the first meeting between these teams on Dec. 23, 114-110, behind 29 points from Norman Powell, who sealed the game with four points in the final 25 seconds. Memphis got 24 points from Jaren Jackson Jr. and 23 from Morant.
