Marquette enters the contest following an 87-74 victory over Villanova on Friday. Stevie Mitchell matched a career-high with 21 points, bouncing back from a cold stretch in his previous two games. “Stevie’s always highly motivated,” Marquette coach Shaka Smart said of the senior. “He ended up exactly where he should have.”

Mitchell received support from Chase Ross (18 points) and Kam Jones (16 points). The Golden Eagles excelled defensively, forcing 13 turnovers and converting them into 16 points. They also protected the ball, committing just six turnovers.
